I think it definitely helps when players rush in from all points of the compass to confront the offender.

Wouldn't say he got their 1st player sent off today. He was through and was cut down twice. 2deserved yellows. If any of our players were guilty of getting someone sent off, it was putteril against barnsleys keeper

Poll: Dale player. Do you use it?

For them:
Downes away at Torquay
Midson away at Wimbledon
Jackman away at Gillingham
Marrow home vs Fleetwood
Morsey away at Port Vale
Kenneth home vs Bristol R
Richard home vs Bristol R

For us:
McIntrye home vs Dagenham
Grant home vs Bratfud
Curren home vs Bury

I remember us being 1 up v Cambridge, they had a bloke sent off, it went 1-1, they had another bloke sent off, we lost 2-1.

Long time ago that was!

Away at Chester a few years back would be my guess.

played against 9 for what seemed like 30 minutes or more and i think the game ended 0-0.

Might be wromg with the score.

That was Carlisle, October 1987. One of the sent-off players was Ian Bishop.

It would be better if our players didn't rush in, they risk the possibility of getting booked or worse themselves and its so Man Utd!

I noticed that the reaction to the relevant challenges by Bristol Rovers was less than that to the one against Port Vale. I wonder if Coleman has told them to change their behaviour for the reasons you state.

The reaction by Bristol Rovers' fans was different to that by Port Vale fans as well.

And on Saturday a couple of Dale players went to Grimes to offer a word of, presumably, solace. When Kennedy was clattered, he was ignored as everyone surrounded the ref.

As for 9 versus 11, wasn't there a game at Spotland (against Doncaster Rovers, maybe 10-15 years ago?) in which Dale had two players sent off, including Keith Hill (whatever became of him?), and were trailing 0-1, when they got a dubious penalty (converted by John Deary, off the post) and then scored a late winner?

Mark Leonard was the other player.

It was September 1996 and both players were sent off in the first half by referee Mark Halsey. (11 months later they were both sent-off at Leyton Orient).

Deary (pen) and Gouck were Dale's scorers after the annoying Ian Clark had put Rovers ahead.

Over 15 years ... Halsey is still around too, annoying, most recently, Neil Warnock.
