The big games for me were Halifax and Doncaster in the promotion season, especially the Halifax one on a near-summer's evening, I think I recall, which we probably lost one-nil to a Les Massie goal, and the Coventry game, of course (well, the second-half, at least, once we got there from school!). The halifax loss was at the Shay. We beat them at home 1-0,in another midweek game the previous week, I think Dennis Butler might have got the goal. Both games attracted huge five figure crowds given we were both chasing promotion. | | | |
