I know there have been a couple of threads about Charlie Kelman, but I was just wondering what everyone thought will/should happen at the end of the season?
I think his contract expires in the summer. Does he deserve another go with us or has that ship sailed?

I just can't believe that a player who turned 23 in November and is thriving in League 1 is definitely League 1 at best. He'll have more developing to do before he reaches his peak and it sounds like that is going fine. Orient turned one of their 6 loan players into a permanent today and it wasn't Kelman, so that is something. |  |

How old is Kelman v how old is Kohli? Yet the latter arguably more accomplished already. Maybe he has transformed at Orient but was completely ineffective for us. Nourry clear players have to at least be knocking on the first team door a lot earlier than Kelman has. | | | |

I don't think age has to come into it, but yeah you are totally right about Nourry and the fact that for him it is important. Still, worst comes to the worst we can try and tie down Kelman knowing a League 1 club might spend, Huddersfield recent spending cash and Wycombe will have money to burn and the need for a striker soon too! | |

Not saying I’d have him back, but we were speaking of Smyth in the same negative terms not so long ago.
Now he’s a fulcrum to our attack. Players have pulled out of the shit before. Just rarely happens to us so it’s a novel experience. [Post edited 31 Jan 17:12]

I always said Smyth was decent and should never have been let go.
He has improved under Marti, but Marti has let Kelman go out on loan. And then Marti has decided not to loan Kolli and so far Lloyd go out on Loan, which means they are above Kelman and younger; that should tell you a lot.
We should sell Kelman for £2m in summer and this would mean we would not have to sell any of our other assets for another season as we have to sell every season. |  |

I went to see Orient today. They didn't play well – lost at home to Stockport. And Kelman did not look good. Seemed slow and fat. Didn't dominate in the air. Had a couple of chances. His best moment was, I suspect, entirely by accident. We're not getting any kind of fee for him. | | | |
