Talk about milking it…….Tamworth are charging £38 for a terrace ticket and £42 to sit down when they entertain Tottenham.
Unless I’ve got it wrong I’ve also just noticed that the Sandy is closed for next Saturday’s game against Stockton. Which part of the ground are people buying tickets for? Might be tempted to try the Main Stand personally.
Might raise eyebrows of a few but how I see it is charge normal prices for season ticket holders and rinse glory hunters who only want to watch against a big club. They will go regardless of price. Club needs to think about its proper fans and then itself and the finances from doing this will likely help out a lot.
Either total misunderstanding of the regular fans perspective or total disregard. Take your pick. Unless of course they are expecting some light drizzle the day before. Very hard to feel connected with this club nowadays.

I have to agree I feel that there is a total disconnect between those that run the club and the fans. I feel at times that they see us as an inconvenience . I've been going to Spotland 65yrs and never felt like I do at this time. It really is sad. If they really want to progress this club and reach that 5000 figure they talk about then I'm afraid something is going to have to drastically change. Of course this is just my opinion.
I've got to say that I'm thinking twice about going now I've found out that there might be a load of people stood up in front of me in the main stand for the whole game

There could be none of us attending. Forecast up to 8 inches of snow on New Years Day followed by futher snow for the folowing few days.

Might be worth switching the game to Stockton given the forecast. Think they have an Astro pitch and managed to get the game v Oldham on the day of a storm that postponed a load of other games including ours at Leamington. If it’s off then assume it would be rescheduled for the midweek after which is when we’ve got the pitch works.

We’ve already got the Wolves game scheduled for the day after the date which we plan to Dryject the pitch.
Those National League Cup games against Wolves and Stoke need playing at somewhere like Hyde or Bury.
There is alot to disrcedit football at the moment ,ticket prices /kick off times etc etc but the most important thing is the intergiry of it ,look after the fans because they are paying for it in one way or another. It seems harder to support Dale now than it did 45 years ago,how can that be possible ? Pure and simple fans want to be part of the club and not just to be tolerated, its poor at Dale and has been for a number of years ,will it end ? Under SG ? What do you think ,James a Poll ?
When I started this thread it wasn’t to start a debate about the pros and cons of the Sandy being open but rather to ask which part of the ground other Sandy dwellers were going to use tomorrow. And I haven’t had one answer. I think I’ll spend £5 and sit in the main stand but I’ll be buying a ticket on arrival. I may be an IT dinosaur but I don’t trust my phone and this ticketing system.

The truth is that the fans are not really paying for football, its being paid for by TV companies, sponsors , and Rich men and women, certainly at the highest level, but even at this level, the TV money that siphons down via the Premiership , EFL and even the Natiina League allows many footballers to be paid eye watering wages compared to the average wage in the towns they purport to represent. 45 years ago it was unthinkable that division 4 clubs would be collecting millions or pounds from the Football League each season, the pity is that the money has not been spent on the matchday experience, very few new grounds have been re-built, very few clubs have built resilient, non football, income streams despite their captive audiences. Perhaps with our new owners we can buck the trend and become the club others look to when discussing how to thrive in the lower reaches of the game, we can only hope...but there will need to be some new attitudes required from employees and fans alike, less blame and more can-do is required. "Build it and people will come"....

But the debate it created about the Sandy was a real positive because it’s identified an issue for the club and the Trust to follow up on. An issue that has been reflected in the ticket sales.
Amidst all this is someone at the club going to ask why, with a hardcore of 2000+ season ticket holders, appparently only 300 tickets had been sold to home fans by this morning.
Is it the uncertainty over the weather and the state of the pitch. The vagaries of a fixture list which means that people get out of the habit of going to Spotland? By my reckoning Dale have had two Saturday 3.00pm kickoffs since the end of September. The perceived relatively weakness of the visitors? The closure of the Sandy? Perceived weaknesses in the ticketing system? The style of football? Lack of money straight after Christmas? An amalgam of all the above?

As much as I'd like to disagree with your post I honestly can't,not for the sake of disagreeing but it's long gone where you could say if we stop paying sky it will all come tumbling down,it won't and as you say its way past that stage.Only the fast flowing upbeat football on the pitch can keep us happy ,OH wait a sec.

Bought a ticket for Stockton on Thursday. The system worked well. Reluctant to buy earlier, hoping for a reversal of the decision to close Sandy Lane. Asked some of my fellow Daleys tonight if they had bought tickets. They are all waiting on the referees decision in the morning.
Hopefully I won't have to test the ticketing system's ability to provide a refund.

Come Monday morning, we'll see if "Any tickets purchased for the original tie will be refunded from Monday 6th January. Supporters who purchased online or with card in-person do not need to contact the club." works.

I feel sorry for the fans who paid in cash and are now instructed to trundle back to the Club for a refund, without so much as a hint of an apology. I know it will not be many but one disgruntled fan is suffice, with Project 5000 on topic, Yes?
