I happened across these lads busking in Cambridge Circus a couple of months ago. It was a joy to see great musicianship and youthful enthusiasm combined in a heady indie-pop cocktail. Their album is out this year and they love gigging live wherever they can. This vid is from January this year, and the sound quality isn't great, but isn't it great to see youngsters carrying flame..
Funnily enough I was walking along Praed Street yesterday and Noel Gallagher climbed out of a blacked-out Range Rover and headed past me into a card shop. London life.
Song's been around for a year or so but the album should drop this year.
This is the best shit. Pixies style surf, super tight rhythm section and an absolutely soaring vocalist with some great lyrics.
They do a banging version of Arabian Nights by the Banshees also.

I've long championed the SMs. Bit on an earworm this one as well. Great performance too on Jools last weekend.
I saw them headline End of the Road in 2021 when all the overseas acts couldn't play cos of covid. Didn't think they were up to it and only went cos the only alternative was to see yer man from Radiohead play the piano (I was feeling too rowdy for that), and the Mods proper blew me away, a stunning set

I had never heard of this Mexican outfit before but now really like their mixture of prog (edgy and unpredictable rather than the indulgent, derivative kind) and post rock.

Same, The Neon Handshake was such a good album. I never knew they were Rangers either, obviously just went up more in my estimation.
The next album (Transmit Disrupt) was good also. Had some right bangers on it. Third album was rubbish though. But I'll take two out of three.

That's a bit mad. The way he's pressing on his bridge instead of using a whammy bar. That's odd.
It's frightening how good guitarists have gotten in the last 20 years. The standard now is just silly.

Recently reformed and have a new album coming out in August Lucky enough to be at their very last gig in Camden in 2008 prior to them calling it a day.
Only just found out they had some date in the UK a couple of weeks back....gutted I missed them
