I totally agree. I was going to make the same observation.
Just before that point in the match I was beginning to convince myself that the Pakistan bowlers had just got the upper hand. Boundaries were too few and far between to offer comfort to England in their run chase as the required run rate began to creep upwards.
That unfortunate injury changed the match, as both Stokes and Ali hit a purple patch and slogged that unfortunate replacement bowler to all corners of the ground. |  | | |

For some reason, as a kid, I didn't like him. Wasn't anything to do with the grovel thing, which slightly passed me by as a white kid. It was the Packer thing that got me, I couldn't understand how the England captain could walk out on the job, it made me feel that he was a South African mercenary and not proper English.
The fact that Mike Brearley was sort of the cricket equivalent of Gerry Francis for me probably didn't help. | | | |

Its been pointed out that if England could win back the Ashes that they would hold those and both world cups at the same time. When thinking of ways to annoy Australians, many of whom foam at the mouth and get very excited at the mention of the England cricket team, there would be few better.
Won't be easy but their two best batsmen will be 34 and 36 by then, by which age top order batsmen are usually on the wane. | | | |
