Our Squad Is Paper Thin 12:54 - Feb 20 with 2167 viewsSwaneeRiver

I feel that certain players like Grimes, Latibeaudiere and Smith get picked every week, either to play or on the bench because of our lack of strength in depth.
Grimes should be benched, but TBH who replaces him, especially with Wolf injured.
Fulton maybe, but clearly Martin doesn't rate him.
The other two I mentioned I don't feel are up to the job being asked of them.

Our squad has diminished each season since we left the PL.
That's why we are where we are.

Next level eh.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Defence is the concern and that is very thin.

The squad was always going to get weaker as the seasons went on since relegation and now we have no parachute payments. We are now in the situation where we need to do things differently and to box clever.

Poll: Are the owners doing enough for Swansea City

If you don't continually involve and develop players a squad will always look thin. Massive spending on squad-fillers excepted. The clubs sitting on two established players for every position in this division are spending far more than they earn on basic wages. Even with parachute payments.

If we were to drop Grimes surely Downes and Ntcham become the midfield pair. We were overstocked in that position after summer business, having bought 3 and sold no one. Walsh and Williams have gone out on loan but we still have Fulton and Smith before looking at academy backup. Heaven forbid.

We've certainly signed thin players. We specialise in it.
Looked like men against pre pubescant boys at Bram Lane.

Our skill is enough -apparently. We dont need big players.

Poll: Christmas. Enjoyable or not

We can't have a thin squad, 2 players have to leave to bring one in. Plus the lovely owners always invest in the squad so wouldn't leave us short!!
Seriously tho we do have 6 CBs so we should be ok there having 1 senior wing back in the whole club is concerning

There are only 15 games left. Every player is on at least £5k week like Dhanda. Money is tight and the sensible US owners want Martin to sweat his assets. Fulton Dhanda Lati Bennett Hamer provide cover with academy players and 'out of contractors' an option.
5 extra players on £5k a week costs an extra £650k and a similar sum is save on loan players out of the club. Save the money for the summer.

They have brought in to the concept of long term development and accept promotion is a long shot. Results are inconsistent. They have enough players for 18 games. The owners were persuaded to give Fulton 11k a week by Cooper and now cannot shift him.
