Don't forget this game was all ticket. I think restricting the number of tickets to under 2000 for away fans is worth considering. Although there is the issue of away supporters buying tickets for the home end in advance.

Which is why the Willbutts should be filled with 3-3500, easier to police, there may be a few in the home end but don’t restrict the away following & give Biffos excuses to buy seats where trouble is pretty much inevitable!!

I think a midday kick off is paramount, surprised the police haven`t already insisted on it. The last thing they need is pissed up Latics fans causing mayhem in the town centre then on to the ground. It`s nothing new, so why risk it?

I understand where your coming from but such is life now a 12pm KO wont stop piss heads getting pissed....I often think it makes it worse as they will just drink quicker to achieve the end goal of getting leathered!
Unless pubs are shut in Rochdale (think Weathers opens at 9am ish) then how do we stop those who want to drink from 9 or earlier to 11.30/12?
I think some games attract trouble more than others, sadly this has proven over the years to be one of them. With the added problem now of how disenchanted they are and hype around the game.
The only way I guess is as some have suggested and only sell to their ST holders so people are semi identified. Though if the police still insist on as much presence as they would for full allocation then its costing us extra.

TBH it doesn't matter what time the boozers open as it's not beer driving on idiotic behaviour thesedays, it's Pablo's marching powder that is the in thing amongst the 'lads' thesedays.

I think that kinda stuff normally happens in pubs as well tbf.
OAFC have suspended all season card sales and all match tickets online. The forth coming away game is now only available to season card holders who need to buy a ticket in person and show id alongside their season card. From their announcement it looks like discussions are in train with EFL, other clubs and the police to restrict numbers and at least identify every fan due to attend so that trouble makers can be identified. Decent fans shouldn't fear that

And how do we stop Oldham fans buying tickets for the Rochdale areas? especially as online tickets need no proof of id.
Online ticketing requires payment via channels where your home address is stored
The ticketing system requires you to enter your home address, so unless that matches the credit facility it could be rejected. I don't fancy trying a false address to see if that actually works!

It doesn't....whats more strange is some folk assume every Oldham fan actually lives in Oldham too, id guess there's a fair few live closer to rochdale than many of the "home" fans actually do, hardly a decent security step to stop away fans buying in the home end really.

I live in Rochdale and one of my neighbours is an Oldham fan.

I'll take your word as proof of his ID
The one's who're likely to threaten to "take our town" can't do that if they already live here. just saying... for the benefit of some people, not your good self
