Match Officials LEIGH DOUGHTY James Wilson and Graham Kane Fourth Official : Matthew Donohue
A quick chance for the swans to put Wednesday out of their minds as the embark on to home games that of managed positively will see them cement themselves in the top six again. Easy to say, but this is why seasons have landmark points, as we move towards Christmas this weekend is the first crossroads. If the response is as we all egxpect and want then this fixture should be three points.
Referee watch Leigh Doughty From a £45 a match hobby four years ago Leigh has decided to take a full-time contract with the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL) and is just one step from the biggest league in the world. The new kid on the block Leigh has been given what is never an easy task reffing a swans game, and the faith his bosses have shown in him should tell everyone how high they hold his professionalism so far in his career. Leigh used to be a PE teacher before moving to full time refereeing. After the abysmal handling of the swans last home game the focus will be even more on him to get through the ninety minutes with his decision making intact. To do this he needs to award most of his decisions to the swans and disregard any appeals and falling over Luton Town are famed for. In fact if he does this he could become the best referee we have ever seen. In the world this millennium. He should also be aware we need a couple of penalties early on as well, just as a gesture of goodwill. As this is on,y his sixth championship match to referee in Leigh’s whole life and that includes any other lives he thinks he has had. So, he should also take note the swans have had a few problems in front of goal since Viktor Macfarlane came on loan and the signing of Jamal Newhouse. So, no messing about Leigh.

What is a Luton ? Luton is short for Looney Tunes, the makers of comedy cartoons for adults. The most famous person to come from Luton is the engaging and interesting Tommy Robinson, son of Tommy Robinson the gay musician who doesn’t have sexual yearnings when it comes to the ladies. Tommy Robinson is a football hooligan who fights people at football and when he isn’t doing that he is fighting people outside his house, and when he isn’t doing that he is fighting people elsewhere. Tommy is the once leader or maybe not of the comedy troupe MIGS which means Men In Gear. Or as we found out one evening in a pub in Paddington MIG means ‘ Maybe I’ll go’ or even ‘Mate,it’s genial’ either way they should be called ‘Boys in out of their depth’ We like Tommy on Swansea Independent, or sometimes we don’t, he is a funny little chap who reminds me of a small comedy character, who if he wore a hat ( more later) and smoked a Groucho cigar would be taken more seriously. Luton is famous for nothing, apart from as previously mentioned hats. They are called the hatters because they are forever changing their hats dependent on the circumstances, it is nothing to do with the rumoured making of hats since the 17th century.

The airport Luton airport has been named the worst in the UK for the fifth consecutive year, after passengers branded it a “rip-off” charging penny-pinching prices despite constant overcrowding. ... In the other five, Luton garnered only two stars — queues for bag drop, check-in and security control, shop prices and baggage reclaim. The Jets, a musical combination of men are from a Luton, which were formed in support of their local airport, maybe.

And finally The Bury Park area of Luton had a whopping 224 crimes reported in April 2019. There were 66 reported incidents of violence and sexual offences, around two and a half times the area average of 26.7. The area also had 19 burglaries reported, three incidents of possession of weapons, and 15 public order offences reported. All were committed by Muslims or people with beards who want to be Muslims. If you have any doubts, yes you guessed it, ask Tommy.
Nathan Jones Luton Town manager Nathan is a master of the away win, but only at Swansea. When he was rubbish at Stoke City he masterminded an away win at the Liberty, and then when he went to Luton he did the same again. That’s just a coincidence though, don’t worry. The odd thing is Nathan went out for some fags and a beer last Tuesday and his mum who had already ironed his school uniform for the next day got quite worried. So much so she rang the local police station and spoke to a copper. He asked why she was so concerned and she said ‘ He’s been gone too long’

Keith Barber After a time with Dunstable Town, goalkeeper Barber was signed by his home-town club Luton Town in 1970. Playing in goal for seven years, he made 142 league appearances for Luton before moving to Swansea City in 1977.After a season with Swansea, during which he was part of the side that won promotion to the Third Division, he spent a two-game loan spell at rivals Cardiff City before moving into non-League football with Bridgend Town. The incredible fact about Keith is he never ever cut anyone’s hair even though he could have had he had some scissors.

Swansea City News Freddie Letheran, Kyle Hough, Viktor Macfarlane and Jamal Newhouse could all be included in a Matchday squad that captain Matt Gower and Korey Pozuelo will be hoping to return to after not leaving it, but watching the last game from the bench. But not Korey, but it looked like he did.
Cooper pre match press call

What has happened to the early season decent football? We look to be going backwards. Lucky 3 points but we really need to up our game from now on.
Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Good result, but this was one of the worse home performances I can remember from recent years. I don't suppose we can blame the defence, and Ayew did deliver, but there wasn't a great deal of quality coming from the rest of the team. I don't find myself wanting to see videos of our games these days apart from the goals. It is like watching paint dry. The "beautiful day" song as the teams went off reminded me of happier times.
Really?
You must of slept through a lot of games.

"From memory he has not won one aerial challenge for weeks now"
Seriously?
It’s going to be a nerve-tingling January to see if Ayew is snapped up by a Premier League club. Without him we would have absolutely nothing in attack - zilch, sod-all. Watching some of our play in and around their penalty area I was struck by how clueless we were. Whoever was in possession just wanted to offload it hastily in any direction but usually sideways. No thought of trying to shoot and score. Shots that were made were powderpuff, half-hit efforts until Ayew showed how it’s done (again). Then Lowe came on and demonstrated why he couldn’t hit a cow’s arse with a banjo. I could see why Luton had beaten Norwich in midweek. They were slick and accurate passers and it’s credit to our defence that we stopped them scoring. They were also much more comfortable on the ball than Swansea. Swans’ ball retention was dreadful today. Yes it was a good win in the end but I’m far from convinced that we are promotion material. Bournemouth will be a good indicator on Tuesday night.

Good points, well made - challenging week ahead with two complete different tests, firstly in B’mouth a pacy attacking side who will fully test our strongest department on Tuesday night & then early ko on Saturday against a very organised & physical side who will be happy to play without the ball & offer significant set piece threats.
As you say it will be a clear indicator on our real opportunity this season by 2PM next Saturday - anything better than 2 draws will be reasonable for me, I still see at least 6/7 sides with stronger squads/formation/strategy than us & if, as you say, we were to lose Ayew in Jan then top half would be a decent end result.
We are, without doubt, difficult to beat but incredibly dull & often painful to watch.

Simple to answer that Gibbs White is injured he made us tick
We weren't playing great football at the start of the season.
We had a 2/3 game spell where we looked like we were beginning to start playing some attractive, attacking stuff but then Cooper put Grimes back into the starting lineup.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Still got irrational, stubborn and unsubstantiated dislike of certain players Jobs?
As for Grimes, he’s admired and respected by his managers, team mates and opponents for good reason. I’d like to see the consistency of his set piece delivery improve but he’s a fine player undoubtedly.

Very true. A big miss for us - however if we’re still winning ugly by the time he returns and two points off the top we’ve done extremely well. Let’s keep positive! And, didn’t we lose to these at home last season??
