Not a big fan of his but I thought he played well today when we needed him. Even provided a couple useful passes forward!

This reminds me a bit of the Hoilett situation. Got injured a lot, lost confidence, crowd on his back. Slowly worked his way back but because of history and money many couldn't see any improvement.

Now he is in the top division!

From scapegoat to top dog? Lol

It is the same each time we have a couple of dodgy results, our fans always want a scapegoat and for many Cousins is that man, he has done a great job when stepping in if you ask me, the team as a whole were poor against Reading but it would be cruel to just pick on Cousins for that. Cousins yesterday was great

Poll: Of the 3 linked away, who do you think will still be a QPR player come February?

He was nowhere near as poor first half as he was in the last game - huge improvement - and why bother pulling out the victim card?

Get your victimhood in early. That's what I always do.

If I didn’t happen to work with a Charlton fan I wouldn’t honestly be able to tell you what sort of player he’s meant to be. More often than not the game just passes him by in my totally uneducated opinion.

I don’t get where this ‘tore us a new one’ vs Charlton comes from. I was also there that day and it was Ademola Lookman who was incredible. Only player that shone on either side.

Cousins rep appears to be built entirely on a myth based on a misremembering.

You may well be right West. I thought he played well that game and Charlton fans seem to really rate him, so I've always hoped there's more in him than what we've seen.

I'm sorry but what you're saying doesn't really add up - nobody is shouting, nobody is scapegoating anyone, nobody is stopping you from being as positive or negative as you want about whichever player you like - go for it. I don't know if you're upset by some previous experiences on forums but there's really nothing to see here - you're posting as if you're already halfway through an argument when one hasn't even started.

I can't be bothered to have a argument with you, I simply took issue with the 'victim' comment. Let's get back to talking about the team/players which is what we all really want.

Fair enough man - agreed - consider that victim comment retracted.

I thought he played well yesterday, both halves although better in the second.

I think your comment about not knowing what sort of player he is meant to be is quite interesting because I wonder whether the managers know what he's best at.

He's played a couple of positions for us and doesn't seem to have one particular skill which he is better at than any other midfielder. He appears to have all the attributes of a good midfielder so perhaps he needs some game time to establish where he fits into the team, show SM what he has to offer and how he might be used to greater effect.

Yeah sorry mate wasn't having a dig - I just see that game quoted a lot and I just don't remember him being stand out at all.

However it is true that he came to us with a reputation a very exciting young player. Apparently very big clubs were looking at him.

Let's hope he really kicks on at last.

He is the current scapegoat and I was arguing on facebook as QPR fans like to have a scapegoat of the week. I am in my 40s and have been following the club since childhood. I remember donkeys such as Karl Ready and others who were always subject of boo boys. I could never boo a QPR player. Maybe we need a positive energy guru to come to Loftus Road.

I made this point the other day about Cousins.
It is like there is scapegoat relay baton that needs passing on.

Maybe some/most of his performances are quite bad. By all means praise the guy when he plays well but let’s be able to call it as we see it even when what we see is crap.
