Brilliant win in more ways than one. It's the whole team playing its game for the whole 90 minutes. You can only expect a bit more ruthlessness, as well as trying to avoid the question "how long can in last this way". It's just great to be a Saints fan these days, thanks to everyone: NC, MoPo and staff, the players and supporters.

Who needs Osvaldo? He's done nothing, and now he's 'injured'! Lambert and Rodriguez did the business up front, MS was brilliant, Wanyama showed us that he CAN pass! Outstanding: JWP - surely could go to Brazil? Fulham gave up at 2 - 0, although they shut-up shop effectively second half! Both full-backs played like wingers and left the defending to L and F. Lallana excellent! Great display! (Boruc will be needing some practice during training, or he will forget how to be a keeper!)

Burnely got there tactics right from start to finish, and controlled this game from the start. QPR started the game with the same possession football that had seen us go 11 games undefeated. Burnley tactics were to hold a high line, the forwards and midfield close us down and pushed u back, not giving us time on the ball to move forward. This resulted in us doing too many sloppy passes, giving the ball away too cheaply and in danger areas. This lead to two good chances in the 1st half both which Burnley missed mean while Henry missed our best chance and infact apart from the pen, was the easiest of the game. Austin was isolated and ineffective has he had two players on him all the time, and by the time management changed it the game was gone. Poor performance from the team and Management as hardley any choices we made that day were right. Onwards and upwards.

The safe backwards pass is in evidence too often. This has almost become our first instinct instead of looking to see if anyone is making the run into space. Two decent chances all game could have seen us win but in truth the draw was a fair result given the overall balance of play.

our form isn't as good as it could be but we are ticking along and getting results and the return of Ash and Pablo are big pluses from the game for me.

Onwards towards next week

All of bigears plus two other failings

2nd to the ball every time
Way too narrow in the second half until the too-late substitutions Never stretched them on the flanks

Just wondering if the McLaren factor is missing. Barnsley - regressed, Millwall - late lapse, Burnley - way too casual way too sloppy

Were the first 8 games a mirage as we suspected?

Wigan will be telling

Probably just grumpy because of 1am kick off downunder but I thought this performance was abject. Credit to Burnley for high pressing game. But our passing was abysmal, slow and inaccurate. Not sure I have seen a professional game where one team passed the ball directly out for an opposition thrown in so often - our passes were not even close to the mark. First real test of season - fail. Hoilett only bright spark. Kranjcar invisible, Barton on edge of red from early on, Austin alone. Got to be better than this for promotion.

Great to have football back at Loftus Road-it seems ages since we were last here and last won. Good solid performance, despite the score we had the edge and class over the Derby boys.
At last Phillips showed why Harry had invested in him and he looks like a great buy. Jenas was a match winner-about time too-he could easily have had a hatrick
Barton was back to his resilient self-boy did we miss him at Wigan-he is a class act
I feel that despite the tags of favourites to go back up and the position in the league there is a lack of confidence-the last 15 minutes we should have nailed the thrid goal but our timewasting allowed Derby back into the game and aalsmost steal an equaliser.
Fanstastic crowd support and the away fans contributed too.
Anenjoyable and competitive game

Just want to add that it was sad to see Ale being taken off-fear that the injury is pretty serious
And a great perfromance from Charlie Austin-he puts a lot of work in for the team and should be appreciated

A much improved performance and deserved win. Jenas was superb, didn't see that coming! The attacking midfield players offered a lot more support to Austin and we created a great deal by using the width. Hill solid and dependable, Barton solid and showed great vision with his passing. So dissappointed for Ale just as he was showing some real form.
