Cardiff under pressure at the end of the first half after taking the lead earlier with Sheffield Wednesday replying within 2 minutes, 1-1 half time. Not a bad game. |

20 years ago next February we were out in Tenerife, it was our 30th wedding anniversary, we booked a very nice Chinese Restaurant for the day in question, we’d had a few drinks before entering the Restaurant and on entering I noticed Ron Atkinson standing by the bar, he was in company with Andy Townsend and 3 or 4 other people.
I went on to Ron, held my hand out and said, ‘how’s it going Ron’.
He said, I’m fine, who the f… are you?’
I said, ‘I’m Roger from Swansea.’
He said, ‘F…… hell, you’ve had a result coming out here from Swansea.’
I said, ‘You cheeky bugger, you make sure you behave yourself this evening’
This was at the time that he was involved in the N word scandal
His final words to me were, ‘I find it very difficult to do that,’
Townsend just stood there glaring at us, seemed a right miserable git. |
