We should note that Portsmouth, 2 points below us, have 2 games in hand. |

Talk about winning without the ball. We had 32% possession tonight. Cardiff are absolute crap. They couldn't beat us with 68% possession. |

The floodlights went off just before kick-off and they've been unable to restore them fully almost an hour on from the scheduled start. The game's been postponed now I think. |

It's just occurred to me that, given we've got Celar and Field, shouldn't we be a nuclear powerhouse of a team? |

Field pressing forward worries me as it leaves gaps behind. He did this v Stoke so it must be something Marti wants. |

I enjoy this period of history too. You're right the words "Wales" and "Welsh" come from the Anglo-Saxons and their word "Wealh" which itself is derived from the Celtic Gauls. The Celtic Britons were the indigenous people of Great Britain from the iron age and possibly before. They eventually diverged into the Welsh, Cornish and Bretons. |

But I've always thought of QPR as a solid Anglo Saxon team with a good smattering of Celt. So, to my mind, we lost that one too. |

The average points needed for 21st place over the last 10 seasons is 47 points, so maybe another 36 points will see us safe. But, that we're already looking longingly at finishing as the 4th worst team in the Championship shows just how much of a shit show we are at the moment. |

PAUL NARDI (Brie) A popular French cheese. Doesn't command a box. |

Do you ever reflect on how you come across? It's not your opinions that winds people up - you regularly make prescient observations, but it's the way you make them. You come across as the kind of self important asshole that corners people at parties. Just dial it down for goodness sake. |

I agree with the comments about Saito and I hope we can retain his servives come next season. Our summer recruitment has come under fierce criticism, and understandably so, but in addition to Saito we have others who could well prove to be good 2024 acquisitions namely Nardi, Morrison, Varane, and Dembele. |

Cannon is actually on loan at Stoke from Leicester. I know loans are not free but given we paid £2m for Celar, a loan of Cannon's quality would have been a sensible use of the little money we have. |

It was a cruel irony yesterday that the club celebrated Arthur Longbottom's time with us. He was a one in three striker and top scorer three years in a row between 56/57 and 58/59. When discussing our worst strikers I always think of Mike Sheron who was an expert at spooning the ball over the bar. But just checking I see even he managed 19 goals in 63 appearances. |

I think you're right, E17. WLS is making a headline that's debatable at best. It's not inconceivable that Marti might get the sack but it would take Nourry and the board's level of stupidity to a new low. Marti is not entirely blameless for the mess we're in at the moment but he's the right man to get us out of it as he demonstrated last season. |
