the competition is far from irrelevant, it's been great this weekend a couple of brilliant games, knockout football at it's best. If it was a league game between a team at the top and a team at the bottom you can be sure the team at the top wouldn't play a full strength team maybe leave 1 or 2 out ahead of a game against a rival, it's no different in the cup If Liverpool, QPR or other teams want to rest people and throw the games thats upto them, it doesn't devalue anything and for Liverpool it's certainly understandable when they have Everton on Wednesday and and a semi final a few days ago This all comes imo from the top clubs who drive the message that cups don't matter so everyone copies them and then look shocked that it's the big club that always win them as their squads can cope with resting 4/5 players in the early rounds |

Why can't they do both? I'm not sure them losing today would help them staying up either, the confidence they must get from today will help them. The 2 new centre halves they have were outstanding |

Kelman played really well, never really had a chance for us up front, always played out wide Looks like he's bulked up a bit |

We've always got a taxi, is a really long walk if you wait near Tescos outside ground they usually stop there after a game or you can order an uber Sometimes they do a bus back to the statiom for away fans but we haven't managed to get on it the last few visits |

Spurs were crap and I know they have injuries but starting Spence in midfield and Archie Gray at right back seemed mad, Gray must have played right back, left back and cenre half tonight, I wonder if they realise he's a midfield player. |

Sander Berge is so much more phyiscal , dominates the midfield, they couldn't be more different in style |

I'm sure they do it on purpose becasue they know it winds people up Lampard doing alright at Coventry though, they are flying at the moment |

The big learning from the summer window has to be you can't only go on data, you need a balance between data and old fashioned scouting The problem we always have is whenever we spend money like a few million it's usually wasted and our record at signing strikers is so poor. If we can offload Madsen in the summer and get some money back we've done well. |

yeah we were shocked, was only a few people and they were shouted down but I couldn't quite believe it |

completley agree but heard some songs about him at Millwall from a handful and having a look at social media hes been getting some right stick today |

one thing I think the club should do now is get an interview with Dunne on the site becasue I genuinley think he's going to get some stick from some fans next time he plays |

There is no way we were going to turn down 2million, it must have been as you say small fee up front and add ons which makes sense for them but does nothing for us. Much Like JCS, if a good offer was on the table we'd have sold him. This was always one of those deals where if we sell for that fee great everyone wins and if we don't thats a pretty good outcome for us as well. [Post edited 3 Feb 22:55]

That seems a bit of a leap, how do we know Dunne now won't sign a contract? All that has happened is a club have bid for him and we turned it down. So much noise and bullshit around all this |

depends on structure of deal, if they offered 2 million up front no doubt we'd have taken it but if it's add ons etc with a small initial fee not sure it's worth taking |

sounds like he's staying |

He's bang in form and could make the difference in the next 3 months so can see why Sheff Utd want him now, I don't think this deal is there in the summer unless they blow promotion |

I'm sure there are differences on both sides which is why it hasn't been done yet which is pretty normal but I don't think there was a huge panic on either side that it needs to be done quickly. If he ends up staying I still think he'll sign before the end of the season but if the deal is anything near £2million up front the club have to take it I've given Nourry some stick on here but have to say I'm pleased he hasn't folded and appears to be holding out for as much money as we can get here |

complacenecy probably not the best word to use but I don't think either party would have been too concerned going into this window, I think without this offer he'd have agreed a new deal before the end of the season but we'll never know I don't dount it would be more money on a free for him but I just don't think it's huge amounts and at this stage of his career a chance to play in a side fighting for promotion with a realistic chance of going up if not this year then next year has to be a massive appeal for him If it goes through I think it's a really good deal for both QPR and for Jimmy Dunne |
