RIP Pete Rose, 83
at 03:33 1 Oct 2024

Charlie Hustle was kind of an a-hole and clearly a delusional liar among other bad things, but he was without a doubt one of baseball's all-time greatest. Maybe now they let him in the Hall of Fame.

If there are any fans of America's version of cricket on this site, this is a really interesting documentary.

Swansea City v Bristol City : Match day thread : SUNDAY !
at 15:41 29 Sep 2024

It's been mostly a very lively pace with both clubs playing open and aggressive.

Cooper has been excellent. Nearly scored a spectacular goal but it hit the woodwork. Bristol City has also hit the woodwork. One great save by Vigouroux.

Drinking the Kool Aid is a term that came from the Jim Jones cult tragedy in the 1970s.

That one played out completely opposite of our first two away fixtures. Great 3 points.

Ben lucky that handball wasn't seen, or perhaps ruled involuntary.

In the other two away fixtures, 1st half attacking has been nonexistent. Really hoping to see us start out on the front foot, whether we get a goal out of it or not.

Thanks again bud. I've probably said some rude things to you in the past, but I feel the same about good discourse, as well as your principles and character.

That's good that he's come around, and obviously a big blow to the Democrats, since he spent $419 million in 2020 to help them win.

Looks like the Biden White House's fascist bullying of social media over COVID information (see 2nd paragraph) finally made him see the light, and well as feeling duped that the FBI lied to him to get Facebook to censor vital anti-Biden information before the election.

Thank you. One of my first memories as a small child was Nixon resigning due to Watergate, I very vaguely remember watching that day on TV at my grandparent's house on a visit.

As an adult, it has been my benchmark for Presidential scandal.

In fact, going back to my last reply, the first big stage in pushing me from independent to the GOP occurred when Obama was caught weaponizing the Internal Revenue Service against his enemies. Using Watergate as the benchmark, that should have ended his presidency, and it blew my mind when the scandal fell off everyone's radar within days.

Later, I realized that the GOP was itself fractured. On one hand was the corrupt, globalist, establishment GOP (Cheney, Romney, et al), who were financed by the Donor Class and served as the controlled opposition, as they were as much part of the swamp as any Democrat. On the other was the emerging Tea Party: populists like Ted Cruz who were out to really change things. It was only the latter who were the targets of Obama's weaponized IRS; since establishment Republicans bitterly hated the Tea Party, the scandal just faded away, even though the White House was caught red handed.

Now, that Tea Party movement has evolved into MAGA, and the establishment GOP has lost all power.

I wasn't old enough to vote until 1988. I considered myself an independent until the Democrats descended into fascism.

Trump assassination attempt again
at 17:33 16 Sep 2024

1) So your accusation (without evidence, and completely contrary to his behavior in his first term) is that he's going to do exactly what the Democrats have been doing for decades, when he merely means to bring back nonpartisanship to a thoroughly corrupted civil service system.

2) Nope, Trump's already said that he's not going to dismantle ObamaCare (which sucks, by the way) until they've got consensus on a better plan.

3) Trump's tax cuts helped all working Americans, and helped trigger the economic boom we had during his first term pre-COVID. I know, because I'm not a billionaire.

4) Again, like #1, you are describing the last two Democrats in office, not Trump. Putin invaded Ukraine the first time under Obama, who was even caught on a hot mike telling a Russian diplomat to tell his boss that he'd "have more flexibility" to bow to Putin after his re-election. When Trump took over, not only did Putin pause his hostilities for four years, but he also was blocked from building Nord Stream II due to Trump's sanctions specifically targeted at stopping it. Trump also warned the Germans about becoming too dependent on Russian energy, and was roundly mocked for it by the Germans and the idiots in the press. Best thing that happened to Putin in the last decade was when Biden was installed in the Oval Office. Biden ended the sanctions and Nord Stream II construction began almost immediately.

As for the rest of your babbling:

* Trump was pointing out to the undecideds that he's only got one more term left to serve, but of course that was very predictably taken completely out of context.

* What could you possibly have against populism?

* Trump's tariffs were costing China many billions, while inflation stayed low and the economy boomed pre-COVID, so that's another L for you.

* The Democrats are the only party who has ever suggested adding additional justices to the SCOTUS. In fact, many of them in Congress and the media have been pushing it hard while Biden is in office, while the window is still open. Once again though, similar to the rest of your nonsense, I suppose that doesn't stop the Left from projecting its own Fascist behavior on the other side.

What conspiracy theories did I post? I'm talking about documented facts.

Matt Tiabbi released the Twitter files two years ago after Musk bought the platform. It detailed all the communications between the FBI and their willing accomplices at Twitter to shut down any talk about the Hunter Biden laptop, three weeks before election day.

Likewise, Mark Zuckerberg - who has every reason NOT to bolster Trump's claims the election was rigged, since he personally contributed tens of millions of dollars to the Biden campaign - just last month sent a letter to Congress in which he admitted that he was also coerced to censor the Hunter Biden laptop story on Facebook. See third paragraph.

As far as your last sentence is concerned, you clearly don't know what adjudicated means. The courts threw out every voter fraud case without even looking at it. That's quite the opposite of adjudication.
