Keith, I’ve just read the Twitter conversations you’ve had between yourself and “it”recently. Jesus wept, you don’t need this s###, especially from supposedly bloody adults. Keep your chin up mate. [Post edited 9 Jun 2021 22:33]

You must remember them, especially on St David's day as a kid. All the boys wearing either their dads knackered old welsh rugby tops (or their dads knackered old miners outfit if they were unlucky) and the young girls wearing the shawl and stovepipe hats. Little fabricated leeks or daffodils stuck on the front with pins unless you are from the estate where they had an allotment and you actually had a real leek. 7 days later your photo was in the Rhondda Leader feeling like a winner. Oh Jesus, help me here, please Can you explain to me what a Welsh Republican Tricolour is please? It looks like Wolfie Smith has had a bash at paint shop pro and his mates all chucked in a fiver to make a flag “to realise his dreams”. [Post edited 7 Jun 2021 22:52]

I’ll be honest it doesn’t sit well with me bringing politics into sport. The last thing the world needs right now in these troubled times is bringing their own propaganda onto people who only want to watch a game of footy. |

If you can't see the difference between retrieving the falklands from a fascist dictatorship (and not involving any other country) and protecting its citizens from a war between Russia and the Ukraine then I think you are myopic. Wars start for a reason and there's always an aggressor. The argentine people may be our friends (like people all over the world are our friends) but if you want to think a fascist dictatorship is your friend you crack on. |

Its remarkable that those who shout the loudest about how anti-fascist they are are quite happy to turn a blind eye to the Junta regarding the falklands. Funny that. |

NATO is there to protect its members, you pick on one country you pick on them all. NATO had no legal right to get involved and no member state would have the stomach to get embroiled in (let's be honest) and unpleasant skirmish which doesn't affect anybody in the west. |

Considering NATO was formed to collectively protect its members from the soviet threat there's no point in pointing the missiles at the moon. |

That's one hell of a bold statement. The irony being that damage done to the planet damages humans further down the line. |

The populations are equal, it would be like comparing Lampeter to St David’s or Birmingham to Manchester. It doesn’t matter what the size of the control and test group as long as they are similar and have similar demographics. [Post edited 5 Jun 2021 23:37]

True but a good example is to look at a couple of micro states like San Marino and Gibraltar. Both have nearly exactly the same population 33.7k and both had pretty much the same death rates (90 and 94 respectively) with their population death toll at approximately 0.27%. Both states have higher than average older people and higher than average health facilities. |

It most definitely is an underestimate I agree but most of the world hasn’t been under lockdown. Most of Europe and North America and bits and pieces here and there but you are looking at approximately 5 billion not under lockdown. [Post edited 5 Jun 2021 21:27]

Without addding any fuel to the fire regarding conspiracies as I think most are bull**** I’m still trying to work with the statistics. Sorry if I offend anyone as I know there’s some people on here who are a bit over emotional on this subject and I don’t think they realise we all know somebody somewhere who has suffered at some degree from this. Here goes, this is a (hopefully) once in a generation / lifetime pandemic. At the start of this if you were told that there’s going to be a pandemic and after 15 months 3.8 million die (as of today’s official statistic) out of a global population of 7.7 billion you’d think (as a betting man I would anyway) that’s very very slim odds of dying. I wouldn’t waste a tenner betting on me dying of this. I’m no expert and I really have appreciated Proffesors insights these past 15 months but as a statistician something doesn’t smell right. |

It doesn’t take much apparently to be in the top 10% of the richest people on earth. I just found this on google: A net worth of $93,170 U.S. is enough to make you richer than 90 percent of people around the world, Credit Suisse reports. The institute defines net worth, or “wealth,” as “the value of financial assets plus real assets (principally housing) owned by households, minus their debts.” |
