You know, watching our team has its ups and downs (manure at christmas versus Vauxhaul motors) for instance.
We have seen the great players, the not so great players, and the Ned Zelic.
We have seen Stan and Gerry show every other team how to do it, whilst a year or so later we are relegated.
The fans come, the fans go, we all see gaps where there are empty seats and wonder if the guy next to you is ill, or plain sick of the football.
I spent 23 years at the very back behind the back row in SAR in line with the centre spot, mostly every saturday. Dad sneaked me in with some compliant stewards, and there i stood, rain, snow, shine and David Webb doing his thing, having never got caught by the stewards.
I've walked in on Stan running out of the bookies as my dad and grandad tried to get a bet or 3 on. I've sat 7 seats away from Blondie, spoken to Pete Doherty as i bought an 'all quiet on the western avenue'.
I've stood on the terrace at the old wembley with 3 large holes in my right foot from standing on 3 spikes from a hidden railing that went into the bone but bled all over the terrace during 'The Oxford incident'
I was at Highbury for the knee of god, That Leeds game, most of the European matches in the 70's when HQ rocked.
I used to watch aircraft coming into land at Heathrow when we were losing or just playing crap and as a 4 year old i was bored (heresy).
Memories aplenty. However, the 1 thing that binds us together is our old home, it hasn't really changed that much to me.
I've not been there for more years than i can remember due to moving, money, distance etc.
But i can tell you this, players come, players go, but Loftus Road to me, is my real F'ing home!
With this in mind i'm going to try and get back a few times between now and the lifting of the Championship Trophy by Jimmy Dunne.
Ok, so we are slowly recovering from the hell that was all those defeats, so i started to think..... yes i know.....dangerous.
Anyway, you can choose 5 players from any league except premier or higher (inc european leagues) to make us better and strongerer for the January window.
I've been waiting for 6 months to see a specialist regarding the deteriorating condition of my left leg, ever since i twisted it climbing out of an Artic.
the inner s9de of my left legstarted givng grief so i went to the doctors, possible Miniscus detachment by my knee.
Ok, no worries, he put me down for physiotherapy (i'm NHS i'm afraid), and i went on a list in March. I got asked to see a doctor again a few months later who diagnosed torn knee cartiledge, and im back on the waiting list. Fair enough.
Subsequently, the outside of my left thigh from the knee up, goes numb. So dead in fact that you can push a pin into my thigh and i wont feel anything.
So, off to the docs again, and i get referred to a specialist. I go in, this therapist finds loads wrong with my knee and leg and after 45 mins (as apparently thats the max time they allocate to a patient) i'm out and on my way with the promise of proper therapy....... Ok, i get a letter and e-mail...... multiple times so i dont forget to go again on Friday of this week.
And this morning i get numerous e-mails and texts and a phone call telling me the appointment is now cancelled (due to unforseen circumstances) and they will be in touch. but no idea of when.
Excuse the pun, but it's a real pain and i'm having to work (literally) with it 5 days a week.
I know others are in a worse state than me, and appreciate that,i just wanted to vent my frustration to my mates here. Thanks Dave
Just popped into Maccy D's for a convenience burger and was shocked to find that their burgers are like 1mm wafers, and over all the burger and bun is around 25% smaller for the same money. in relation to the one i had last week!
Anyway, i thought a burger thread on here was needed, so i can canvas you all as to your thoughts regarding your best fast food, artisan, value burger around.
There used to be a great place in Liverpool that was an artisan place and called 'Almost famous' and had great beers, great drinks for the kids, and above all else fantastic burgers
Locations please and opinions on your favourite place
I've asked this way back before we really knew we were crap, but looking at our 'style?' of football, our inability to score goals, attack, shoot on target, run with the ball, complete a successful pass, hold on to a match at 0-0, run without the ball, find space, etc etc etc..........
What are you looking forward to next season in league 1? mine was new grounds to visit
A poor team, an unmatched team, players poorly, players too fat and unfit, a manager that looks at his i pad a lot of the time getting instructions that dont work from the back room 26 year old in actual charge.
I figured it out just a few minutes ago......... Numberwang!
