Are football programmes a thing of the past?
at 18:16 4 Nov 2014

I used to get one if I had enough cash in my pocket after buying the Golden Gamble. I quite like ours - looks professional, with some interesting articles, especially for the history of the club. It used to give me something to do in the build up and at half time. Now, well, I've not bought either a programme or a golden gamble ticket this season, on account of the usual reasons.

The timely return of Belokon

I think I can handle the idea of relegation a lot better if anything came of this. It seems the plummet to League 1 is almost inevitable. If we had this light at the end of the tunnel - rather than the thought of more of the same - I would renew with a slight spring in my step. It's far too easy to be cynical, though, isn't it? I hope this has more to it than fan-pleasing sound bites from VB. As somebody above wrote, it'd be nice for the main topic of conversation to be about football again.

That is actually brilliant. Any chance you could scan it in and link to it?

Best Sit Com of all time
at 16:17 29 Sep 2014

Never seen the US one. Think it is a sitcom - a comedy in a situation, in this case, an office. It just uses the fly on the wall style. Not do keen on Derek, but really liked Extras. Saw Gervais live at the Opera House a couple of years back. On his day, he can be brilliant.

Blackadder the Second, Third and Goes Forth must be up there.

Of the more recent, The Office (UK). And not sure if this qualifies as a sitcoms, a sketch show or what, but the League of Gentlemen.

Will we get over 10,000 tonight?

Not sure what the final official number was, but it looked pretty threadbare from where I was sat (near the dugouts).

Just back,was it bad luck??

Agreed re: Lewis. Thought he was brilliant. Fast distribution, too. I even thought 'he's going to save this penalty!' Sadly not. I was right about another thing. As Ranger stepped up, I thought, 'he's going to miss this penalty.'

Considering where we are in the table and where Watford are, I thought we were quite evenly matched. We could do with somebody like that winger they brought on. How rapid was he?

And my favourite moment of the match, that made me laugh out loud with glee: the head tennis between the Oriol twins. As somebody behind me said, "they'll have been doing that since they were kids." Shame it came to nothing!

RIGA REVOLUTION? SUPINE FANS ARE REVOLTING
at 10:57 17 Sep 2014

Paulco, I've been reading your posts on here and the old AVFTT since you started. You can't wait to get online and vomit forth your staccato James Ellroy-wannabe soundbites. You must be revelling in the misery this club is going through, as it allows you to demonstrate your oh-so witty journalise. Do you sit during the match coming up with these, giggling to yourself as you jot them down into your iPhone, happy in the anticipation that you'll soon be sat behind your keyboard? Actually, do you go the match at all? Or any? Ever?

Your criticism of TAM and the BST is ridiculous, but is no doubt water off a duck's back to them. What I find offensive from you (and others) is this constant lambasting of season ticket holders. And yes, I am one. Do I regret paying for one? It's too early to say - we may yet come good. Do I feel a little hoodwinked? Yes, I do. I am afraid I bought into the 'Riga Revolution'. But do I feel the need to feel bad for what I have done, or the need to apologise to a keyboard warrior like yourself? Nope.

I tell you why: I love watching Blackpool. It's often frustrating, but I do. I enjoy the anticipation. I enjoy walking up to the ground on a matchday. I enjoy seeing the regulars around me (who are, gasp, season ticket holders!) and chatting to them And you know what? I enjoy the distraction from the realities of life that watching a football team brings. Life can be awful. But for those couple of hours, I can at least concentrate on something else.

You know what? Football is not life or death. But it helps. And I refuse to be blamed by somebody like you, who has the audacity to suggest that the state of the club is my fault. That I am a "mug".

So, no. I am going to go to the match when I can. If my seat in the West Stand were empty, it would not make a jot of difference to you or the Oystons. But it would make a difference to me.

Grow up. Get some perspective. Or troll off.

Harwood, I was just picking up on the irony of flogging season tickets under the banner of the Riga Revolution, when the closest to any sort of revolution we've come is the fact Riga's biggest contribution to the club is to spur on the anti Oyston sentiment. Who knows where it will end?

And I agree that I have found Riga's lack of communication frustrating. Not sure he's the hero other fans are painting him out to be.

This isn't the 'Riga Revolution' the club had in mind, I suspect.

What the heck is going on? It's like a really gruesome slow-motion pile up.

I thought Capaldi was good. Shows real promise. Jenna Louise Coleman, too - hitting her stride. The Matt Smith cameo was a nice touch in a fairly average intro episode. But yeah - had to rewind it, turn it up and use subtitles a couple of times. Not just for Capaldi, either. Wasn't sure if it was actors mumbling or background music too loud.

Was Golden Gamble hit on Saturday?
at 09:09 18 Aug 2014

Well, it was £2 down for that reason. My dad in law and I usually get a ticket each. We thought, let's not bother this season. 1) it goes to the O's, and 2) we never win anything anyway. Decided to save the money up and have a drink at the end of the season.

Way to stick it to the man!
