Apart from Fraser’s shot from a tight angle and Brereton’s shot from outside the box near the end, I can’t think of any saves the Everton keeper had to make during the 90 mins. The goal apart, obviously. Hardly a triumph for a strong Saints team against Everton reserves. Still, a win is a win. And we thrashed them 74-26 in possession. So the manager will be pleased. |

But was this partly not due to the genius Hassenhutl playing him at left-back, despite this clearly not being his best position? He had a bit of a habit with doing this with various players….. |

You know things are bad when it increasingly dawns on you that the only solution may be Bella-Kotchap.... |

The problem is that our "fan culture" is increasingly driven by muppets with big followings on Twitter, such as Saint Rob and Football Martin, who just want to be seen in and around the dreaded fanzones. The new songs which I hear people now singing are beyond painful. I don't mind things like flags, they are all about improving the atmosphere. But you can only have an atmosphere if you have fans giving it plenty and not just arsing about on phones, and / or counting down the minutes until they can return to the nearest fanzone for a pint at half-time / full-time. Oh, and it might help if the team tried having a few shots on goal during a game....... |

I am going to boycott these fanzones for as long as possible. Walked past the Northam Fanzone yesterday after seeing the Saints Brass tribute to Elijah, and it irritated me a lot that Saints fans were a lot noisier in there than they are in the ground. Please support the pubs in Southampton. It is far more important that they continue to thrive. Sing in the ground rather than in these gulags. |

The problem is that we are never going to win games simply because we don’t get bodies in the oppo’s penalty area. It will just be the striker on his own. Probably pretty pointless sacking Martin as the players have been conditioned to play in this completely pointless way. Watching United yesterday, they had 3 or 4 players in our box every time they attacked. It’s not rocket science that they therefore had far more shots on goal. We are destined to finish bottom by some distance unless we change this moronic way of playing. |

They’ll be fine. Their last two home games have been against good sides. |

The Northam should be half-decent, but 90% of the people in there will only make any noise if we are winning. I was in a group of 4 at the back of Block 41 who were singing pretty much all game, but largely on our own. Nobody was joining in. People just aren’t interested in supporting the team if we’re not winning. Parsons must be regretting quite a few decisions that have been made since we won the play-offs…. |

I can imagine the likes of Vestergaard would need constant reminders of what they should be doing..... |
