I hear you regarding point 3, and agree this is playing a big part in the board not rushing.
They maybe feel that we're in a comfortable League position where were not currently looking likely to break into the playoffs not get dragged into a relegation battle.
However, our form has dipped considerably (despite an encouraging first 45 minutes last night) and if we lose the next 4 on the bounce in a relegation battle we will be with no options to bring anyone in.
The sensible thing is to bring a couple of signings in this window to shake things up a bit and give the squad a bit more energy and momentum. |

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see LW sacked after the window closes. No permanent signings (possibly 1 with Low if they can get that over the line) but others will be loans. I don't think the board wants to sign players for LW, with him highly unlikely taking the team next year.
If they wait until February to sack him and replace, there's no worries of "promises" to be made to a new incoming manager for immediate backing in the transfer market. |

The Martyrs wouldn't consider this surely? Yes money is appealing in the short term, but would lack ambition. They're looking good for promotion this year, so would only two tiers away from being promoted to the national league.
FAW would be better spending the money on existing clubs within the Welsh league structure and grass roots. |

Yes you want bragging rights, but overall performance and success is far more important than two local derby matches. |

When we say "rest players". Surely they could wind down their training in between matches.
I'm not sports scientist, but are you telling me that 6 calendar days is not enough time to recover?
I'm not denying the effort they put in on match day isn't gruelling, but they have 6 full days to recover... Training would be optional if they needed a rest surely?
Get yourself home, couple of pints of Guinness, get some pasta and a protein shake down you, chill out on the Monday, game of golf on a tuesday and they should be good to go again from the Wednesday.
You can rest when your dead (or in the summer).
Strong as possible team please, pile the misery on the scum who tried/did rip us off with our previous managers compensation and hopefully we'll get a big tie in the next round! |

Given the fact you're losing your best CB, he's young, keen, and playing well, I wouldn't have thought 1m would be too much to ask. Ok, he's untested at championship level, but if he's showing potential and looks ready to step up stop p/$$/£g about and get the deal done.
Could even have 4 months working with someone like Darling to gain from his experience before he's off on pastures new. It's called succession planning!!! |
