Going down. Ray Trew will probably give him a 3 year deal as well just like the rest of the managers he has employed. Joke of a man.

Makes no sense. They've gone from an inexperienced manager to an inexperienced manager who might end up playing. Should have just appointed Abbott, because as uninspiring as that would have been to their ever dwindling support base, he's at least got experience as a manager at that level. As it is he'll be assisting a bloke who's new to the job while trying to think as a no.2.

Trew is ace.

No££s County have just witnessed the "perfect storm" according to their CEO Rodwell...

From the BBC...
Rodwell said former Ipswich Town, Arsenal and Queens Park Rangers striker Kiwomya was the victim of a range of issues affecting the club since he took over from Keith Curle in February.
"I don't think he got us to the bottom of the league," Rodwell said.
"We probably had too many players out of form at one time and the squad is low on confidence.
"There was a culmination of factors that created the perfect storm."

Isn't it the manager's job to lift confidence and get players on form?????????

Kiwomya was never going to make it. Derry has potential but there's a tried and tested formula of failure at County that has only even broken by twelve months of overspending. When they replace Derry, they'll go for someone very experienced and when that doesn't work out they'll go for the gamble on a rookie again. With the constant changes, it prevents any questions being asked of the board. It will keep on happening. Hilly always refers to having the right people around him at the club in terms of Garlick and Dunphy who let him get on with the job. County could learn a lot from us.

But has Abbott ever had any association with QPR?

Remember that time Rodwell said that Dale fans would travel to Meadow Lane in a taxi?

I think we took more to their ground than they brought to us that season.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Notts are consistently full of shite. Trew has made them into a laughing stock and this appt is another risky one. Saying that kiwomya kept them up last season and if Derry does the same it might well be deemed success

Trew has made them into a League 1 club, instead of a club 6 million in debt reeling from the Munto fiasco.

Whether he has been a nutty professor type chairman is always up for debate, but he saved their club and stuck in a load of money, no ifs, no buts.

Put lots of money in, in League 1 but for how long? This is going to be another long hard season for them

They're a L1 club on the back of THAT season. They made the choice to keep the likes of Schmeichel when they could have just concentrated on making the club sustainable.

That threads like this appear four years later illustrate what a laughing stock they are and that's down to those involved. It is impossible to feel any sympathy when things go wrong for them. Would enjoy their relegation far more than Bury's should both happen.

4 years ago phonem, a week is a long time in politics, so it was at Notts when Trew took over.

They are a L1 club off the back of that season but ultimately the mess they were in wasn't of Trew's making and they have sustained L1 since then.

Its not been an easy ride for Ray and Eileen by any means. The initial love fest where they interacted online with fans lasted quite a while but the personal abuse because they weren't in Europe in 3 years got a bit too much for them both.

Equally, I don't think Mrs Trew heads to their home end to sing about wheelbarrows as much as she used to.

Rodwell is roundly respected in football in the same bracket as Steve Evans and Notts fans have throughout been in the main very dubious of him as an individual. He is Trew's man so in that respect Trew carries the can.

Revenge is a dish best served cold as they say, but if Notts C went down this season who would be the glee over?

Munto? Gone, never really existed. Lee Hughes? Gone. Ray Trew? Personally don't dislike him. Rodwell? Most certainly. Fans? Can't do that collectively anymore, some good, some bad.

If in 4 years Bury are a L2 club then I would have the same opinion of the fan of football.

Only time will tell on that one.

Their decision to have a presence on the messageboard was a mistake. I'm of the opinion that such forums are a valuable (free!) customer service tool and clubs should make full use of them, however this doesn't have to mean getting into debates as posters on them.

The posts were often sickly sweet with the 'woohoo, we sit with you all and sing songs' way, and when things took a turn for the worst some fans rightly expected the same amount of interaction as before - it was a recipe for trouble. Then the apologists start with creeping and FAO threads popping up, resulting in one big attention-seeking sad football fan Royal Rumble.

In other news, Derry has declared he won't be playing. FAO Ray Trew, you still need a decent midfielder.

I don't think Derry would have been able to play until January anyway due to the transfer window.

They have signed Keiron Freeman from Derby.

Trew had actually told the Manager to go and sign 3 men.
