Had he been any kind of a man he would have stepped down as captain until after the trial - it's not an admission of guilt, just the gentlemanly thing to do. It would have got the FA and his teammates out of an awkward spot and cleared the air for football to continue until after the trial.
But once again he has shown what a team player he is not. This man is seriously lacking in character.
