What’s the fee?

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

I don't think he was given a chance in his preferred position? Could be a great signing for the Os, who knows?

Our squad is wafer thin as it is, selling a player who regularly makes the bench with nothing incoming is madness

Yes, but it frees up some wages allowing us to replace.

I know people say he’s being played out of position but I really don’t believe he had the necessary requirements needed for this level of football regardless of where he played.

No problem with that, he just didn’t have it at the Swans.

Being realistic here.

If he was any good then he wouldn't be dropping down to Orient.

Parker and Ginnelly coming back will push him down the pecking order.

The only downside is that the squad gets weaker in the meantime.

It's the allowing us to replace that concerns me.
Get someone signed and in the door, then let him go.
It'll be the usual thing where we let him go and then no in comings happen.

Gyorkeres
Al Hamadi
Whitaker
Obafemi
Joseph
Abdullai

None of them fitted the Swansea passing mantra they cannot play. A mistake.

Seems as if we have to leave someone go before we can get someone in.

Joseph hasn’t cut his teeth in the championship yet
Gyorkeres was never our player
Al Hamadi should have left on loan like I suspect with abi it will be the same thing.
Whittiker was shoved out and stands out as the worst decision we made.
As for obafemi he has never really shown anything after the swans.

So out of your list I only see Morgan and abi as the mistakes.

Victor was never our player end of and nowhere near the level of Andre Ayew at the time was he.

These young players are hit and miss hindsight is an awesome thing.

Look back through your posts res when Gyorkeres was here none of us thought this guy is going to be one of the hottest properties in Europe did we?

Look at other loan players that have come and gone Mark Gehi, Conner Gallagher, Brewster .
Why do you always mention Victor like he was our player mate?
But on the other two you do have a point .

In the games he played for the first team he completely lacked the skill set required for the Championship. Never mind where you play on the pitch you need to have the basics right, he didn't. I have seen him play for the U21s in several positions including wide and central defence he was much better, he just couldn't make the step up. Time will tell if it is the right decision but on what he has displayed this season it is.

I don't see that the skillset required for a winger in any way resembles the skill set possessed by a central midfielder. The kid has been set up to fail by Williams and is taking the blame for it himself.

I hope he's genuinely as bad as people seem to have convinced themselves, because at the minute I keep thinking about another young player who got personally criticised for a manager's decisions to play him out of position, usually as a late sub, usually when we were chasing games and is now being targeted for multi-million pound moves elsewhere.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

It won't be multi million just a nominal fee.

And now Abdullai

Above were players we having paying wages for since the start of the season. We were still chasing a player or 2 to come in up until the close of the summer window.
There is certainly scope to be bringing in players at this point with the wages freed up and manoeuvre we had even before these boys moved on.

It's a balancing act but one that the club are making look harder than it needs to be.

That's my thoughts, just hope that ginnelly and parker stay fit as it will like having two new players.

The thing is that the very position Abdulai is cited as being his best is one of the positions we are struggling in for personal, Fulton and Allen are our main men if we are going to play a more defensive minded midfield, the only meaningful change in that midfield area has been Cullen playing a more attacking role, even Cooper only add a certain out to the team, once the pressure is applied by teams we buckle and that weakness is at the heart of our team which is where we need better players to support Franco.
It was nice seeing Bianchini and Franco playing off each other when Bianchini came on the game was lost by then so the shackles came off so much better movement, you could say the same about Pearl-Harris when he came on against Luton it was a game that needed to be won so we played without that fear of passing forward.
All for having a solid defensive setup but the areas of the park that we are getting players around each other and playing off each other should be further up the park, we try it down the wings, sometimes it works like against QPR ( in the first half).
The point of attack needs to change from the wings to through the middle which cannot be done if the movement of the midfield is not good enough, the marking is appalling and the movement nonexistent, Allen improves that in the team but he tires quickly so is not the long term answer we know there is a problem there it is why we bought Franco and Downes but making only the one acquisition at a time has not worked.
Really think not using Abdulai in the middle has been a big mistake.

This is how I see it obviously your opinion may differ, but I'm being objective here with no agenda for any player or coach.

In the u21s he played in several positions central defence, full back, wide left and right, defencive midfield and slightly more forward, Lloyd played AM not Abdulai. He was tried as a wing/left back in the first team but he was diving in and not standing the player up, he gave away a penalty doing it. There is no way he would replace Grimes or Franco in the middle, he is too sloppy, not strong enough, off the pace and his mind is not quick enough. He is too much of a risk even to cover when Franco comes off. Playing him out wide was supposed to give him chance to get up to speed with Championship football, it hasn't worked out as hoped. If and I'm not sure about this, he has preferred a transfer to a loan that's his choice. We had already triggered a 12 month contract extension until June 26, he could have sat on that but he has just turned 22 and feels it's time to move on. I've no problem with that and wish him good luck, sometimes it's for the best for everyone.

Re skill-set and the idea that Abdulai disappointed because he was played out of position, I am a sceptic. The things that have struck me are not just inability to beat a man and his repeated backward passes, but poor technical ability when it comes to the accuracy of passes and screening the ball to retain possession. As far as I can remember, Azeem scored with one easy chance, but was not clinical when he missed a couple of other chances. So for me, he is no great loss.

Exactly there is no way he could be risked in central midfield until he improved those basic skills. We would have been cut to ribbons.

Agreed it is probably best for him, but the coaching of players has seen a significant drop in their own standards. Ronald a prime example and then Luke playing Azeem out of position for as long as I can remember. I don’t rate the coaching, and I most certainly know a few players don't either. Repetitive and constant in a prescribed manner with the promise it will come good and then when repeated on a match day it doesn’t work.

For a year.
