January Transfer Thread 13:27 - Dec 23 with 144479 viewsKeithHaynes

Done some asking and Oli McBurnie is most certainly up for a loan back to the UK this window. I’ve been told four Championship clubs are interested. This will all fall on the fee’s involved plus he is on in the region of €36,000 a week. Big numbers but we know how these things can be negotiated.

Do we have the money ?
Yes.

P&S will need to be positive and only the club really know where we are with that at this moment in time, It won’t be massively healthy. Oli has played fourteen games for Las Palmas this season with no return. He has never been a prolific striker, but could he settle into Luke’s team ?

A great believer in taking anything you like to wherever you want to.

He’s worth a read
It’s no good having posters with whom one agrees.
Having contrary opinions stimulates me as long as they are malice free and most are on here .It was not always the case .

He was good at Huddersfield, but his career stalled at Forest.

Derby are supposedly interested so I would imagine he would choose them before us becuse of the location

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game
Poll: Happy to see Martin go

There would be riots if he helped keep Derby up.

Speculation seems to be about which team will pay the biggest part of his wages.

Both areas of the pitch are massive problems, but I’d agree, after this weeks events, midfield is the bigger issue now.

Let’s not ignore having one of the weakest strike forces in the division though.

We’ve got a Slovenian international striker who has shown his finishing prowess (when he gets the chance) and players in the front five all capable of goals. Confidence is rock bottom all over but it looks like the addition of the Nottingham Forest youngster on loan and maybe even Jacob Wright would give us a new impetus.

Let’s hope these come off and work out instead of all this negativity eh?

O'brien is 26 and has plenty of Championship experience with Huddersfield and Middlesbrough, he will be a good acquisition if can get him, and along with Wright will certainly upgrade our midfield

Sheffield United are talks with QPR for Jimmy Dunne, so that could rule them out for buying Harry

These are experienced players though surely they shouldn't need spoon feeding at this stage of their careers and especially at this level, there's got to be a level of competency between the players.

LW needs to go 100% but the above is also true for me.

3 at the back should be workable with three CB's and competent wing backs.

100%
That back 5 and gk are the most experienced part of the team.
Been around a whil. Plenty long enough to learn a few different formations and be able to know what to do etc.
You’don’t get to be experienced championship players, if you don’t have enough football iq to learn, shirley

.
Poll: Who are you voting for this year? I'm sure Grimes will be popular. I've gone Oli
