QPR WANT NORWEGIAN FUTURE STAR
According to news outlets in Norway, QPR are interested in signing Tromso striker Lasse Nordas. Lasse is only 22 yet has heavily impressed during his career in Norway so far. He has featured for the Norway U21s on several occasions netting 3.
This season, he has 13 goal contributions within 28 games in the Eliteserien. He also netted 2 goals within the UECL qualifiers.
Valued at £1.5million, QPR are not the only club interested.

What's that Lasse? Someone's fallen down a well and you haven't scored a goal in 4 games?

Never knowingly right.

Louie Barry rumour then...

Not what we need given we've Chair and Saito.

I don't think we should be looking at more loans. Edwards was an emergency with two CB's out and two more with injury reputations. No complaints about that.

But all other positions a loan would get in the way of developing our own players. We specifically bought younger players to fit the resale model. And with that seemingly heading in the right direction, lets keep it going.

Maybe a cover at LB, but otherwise I would think incoming players should be permanent signings boosting the squad and/or longer term options, not stop-gap solutions which we are not in dire need for at the moment.

And Dembele to come back along with Rayan Kolli.

We need a LB. Paal is inconsistent and Fox is not really a LB. Larkeche was seen in a training video in the weights room, but he's probably a long way off.

We have no cover or compo at LB for Paal and we need it.

Either we buy a LB or we loan one. As its Jan, probably a Loan is actually the cheaper option for now.

We also need cover for Frey. Celar is not good enough and may never be, Kolli is off and Llyod is still learning.

So, we need a couple of loans of one LB and one CF.
This would take us to 5 loans overall and is about right when you are a poverty-stricken Champ club like ours.

I agree a LB on loan would be a good thing. Fox, though, in his career has played at LB three times more than he's played at CB. He's just not very good and I don't think he has the legs to play there anymore. As CB cover he's just about adequate enough.

Agree. I really don't like loan players unless they are on a permanent at the end. All you do is develop someone else's player.
Edwards looked good last night, so he should be ready for Southampton in August when they kick off in the Championship. Annoying.

We probably need to replace Dunne, Smyth, Field etc... don't we?

Isaac Hayden anyone?

Looking to leave NUFC and being linked to us as he was here before. Do we need another 29 year old CM?

Hard to see it happening now. Not with the emergence of Morgan and Varane starting to settle in alongside Sam Field. Although it kind of depends what we want to do with Colback in the summer if we are releasing him, then maybe there's room for a younger experienced CDM like Haydn (only 29 compared to Jack being 35). Depends on what he wants wage wise I guess!

Supposedly Amas at Man Utd is available. He's 17 but is an excellent technical player. Also on the small side, but so is Paal.

Smells like a trout farm in here

If Colback is out of contract in the summer I would take him as the replacement experienced head in midfield. Assume we'd need Colbacks wages off the books first.

Anybody thinking we're prepared to pay what Villa will demand for Louie Barry is living in fantasy world.

Derby, allegedly, in the hunt. And can offer more game time.

Gelhart is another of interest. But his stats don't seem to suggest any real value.

I think the Hayden boat has sailed. He was great for us last season but he's not played at all or gone anywhere this season. There must surely be a good reason for that.

Also, he'll be 30 in March. I'm all for having some experience in the squad but there must surely be other CDMs with more years to play that could provide that.

Can't argue with any of that, but it seems quite sad for the bloke.

Was clearly keen to play last season, couldn't get into the NUFC side so took. a loan with us when we weren't exactly a holiday camp, did a decent job, didn't lead to anything due to no fault of his, now kicking his heels again and struggling to get a club due to age.

When you look at some of the players happy to pick up a pay cheque for never playing, it seems a shame he can't get a gig.

This.

Remember Johanson.

Everytime we sign a player the wrong side of 30 we undermine the conveyor belt process and trust in the YT.

Maybe. But Bennie and Santos both played for DS yesterday. They lost 2-0 to Millwall and are near the bottom of the table. There may be a player who ends up good enough to be promoted but at the moment, I don't see it.

As for Hayden, the problem includes big wages. Unless he'd be prepared to take a substantial drop.

I bet he could at the right price but he's probably wanting Premiership wages. I'm not as big a fan as others. I think he did a decent job for us and maybe stood out compared to other loanees like Hendricks. But I personally prefer Varanne and would rather spend precious funds on a leftback or a younger player with potential.

Well it’s that famous adage that only 1 signing in 4 actually makes it.

We have written off Lloyd and Kolli before and King Morgan wasn’t a heralded signing. As Nix says, would rather invest elsewhere and Veranne / Field is going well.

Don't forget young Alfie Tuck in the DS. Is he out on loan?

He looked good in pre season, and looks like he could breakthrough next season.

Didn't we get a young Scottish left back in the summer as well?

Plus, I really don't think Hayden can play the way Cifuentes wants his No. 6 to play, so we may have to develop someone who can (Varane) or bring someone in who can.

Tuck's been out on loan at Enfield, though that should be finishing around now. I'm excited to see his development.

The young Scot is Rocco Friel and he's a RB.
