Big pressure on McNulty and his team to get two positive results before Christmas. The amount of teams bunched together who look to be going for two playoff spots is growing. Top five keep pulling away.
Not seen anything today, but those subs all seem way too late. When we’ve a squad with so many options you have to be utilising them earlier in tight games.

hey young man what u mean getting back to the national league we've never been in it!
i have no interest in getting to it either apart from the national north looks a good league that and the northern premier, your league and league 2 waste of time lad.
"never been in it"
That's just about the first sensible thing you've posted. I'll rephrase it then: do your lot discuss if your new club will ever get as far as the National League?
I have seen Dale 4 times this season. Seen 2 nice goals scored against Ebbsfleet and 2 other shots that required a save from the keeper in the other 3 games. 1 point from 12. Not good enough. Especially when you’re not being entertained. I only had to travel 30 miles to the game today. I feel for the fans who travelled over 200 miles. Not sure when I’ll next be inclined to jump in the car and go and see the team. That saddens me after 40 years supporting the side. Dispirited.

your opinion carries no weight whatsoever then.
but i do agree with you about the league table having just looked at it your defo slipping away to be mid tablers
[Post edited 14 Dec 22:35]
To be fair our slip down the table is partly due to games having been called off leaving us with games in hand.
Thats isnt meant to distract from poor performances. and of course points still have to be picked up from those games in hand, but or current position is not entirely due to recent results.

More powderpuff stuff with no end product today. It baffles me how our support is all over supposed fans of other teams pretending to be Dale fans, but they won't criticise the manager for being one dimensional against a bang average team.
Time for a managerial change...together with a few Directors. Its too much of a comfort zone.
Too many games have been awful to watch.

I assume that I’m one of the people you’re on about. I didn’t see the game today so that might be why I’ve not commented on it. I’ll leave that to those who did.
I don’t watch golf(aduffy) either so never mention it. One thing I’d never do though is start whining about not renewing a season ticket because times get a bit tough. Maybee that’s just me though. I’ll be sure to regale my kids of tales of what I did when I was their age.

Not sure whether that’s aimed at me as well, but there’s enough constructive criticism in all my posts on the manager over the last two seasons.
It’s trying to be fair, looking at the facts and attempting to keep a level head when results go one way and then another. There’s nothing wrong with being wrong either.

That’s a good point. We’ve been very much ‘win one, lose one’ the last couple of months. So it’s possible we would now be sixth, two points ahead of the pack if we’d played the same amount of games. Or not of course.

Tuesday is a really big game.
Even a draw on Tuesday would put us back to sixth
As i said earlier, it's tight. I just wish i could stop thinking of metaphors

Not aimed at you 442, because you're one of the fairer posters. More aimed at the shortcomings of the management of the club, which seems to go unnoticed by a few.

How are we a mid-table side all of a sudden? We weren’t a few weeks ago and this is the first time we’ve not been in the playoff places for months!
McNulty’s decision making and tactics are most certainly worthy of debate but let’s not start pretending this squad isn’t one that should be finishing in the top seven.
We do not score enough goals and we are getting worse defensively simple as.. Results with Ferguson at CH were better than with Hogan, goals are becoming fewer, its the perfect storm, conceding more scoring fewer and now we are 9th, albeit with games in hand All Last 8 Diff. Points per Game 1.65 1.25 -24.2% Average goals scored 1.40 1.00 -28.6% Average goals conceded 0.95 1.25 +31.6% We are conceding more, scoring less as time goes on.. We are now at the point where we need to score 2 goals or more to win a game Last 4 form, we are 13th Last 6 form, we are 11th Last 8 form, we are 16th Last 10 form we are 10th Last 12 form we are 13th
Last 4 home games 7th Last 8 home games 8th Last 4 Away games 15th Last 8 away games 10th
Our relative form over the last 8 games Vs all games to date is the 5th worst in the division ,only ahead of Woking Maidenhead Aldershot and Eastleigh

Then I don’t know who, pretty much everyone on here has had issues with the way the club has been run off the field over the last few years.
Some might not post negatively about McNulty for various reasons including the situation in which he has had to manage the team. Not sure that can be criticised because, even though I too have misgivings, his record is quite good.

You’ll find by looking through some of my posts that I regularly call out one board member in particular on here, but that doesn’t suit your narrative does it? The club has too many hangers on that need getting rid of but I’m not going to withdraw my support if I don’t get my own way.
I’ve got bigger balls than that.

Yes, I’m aware of all the facts. The Ferguson-Hogan situation especially.
But we aren’t a “mid table side”. If we become one, the manager is failing.

Pretty much my thoughts too. Some people have had it in for McNulty from day one and can’t wait to let us know after a defeat. They then come on here and whinge when people don’t agree with them but they are nowhere to be seen after a win.
Fairer posters indeed.

Don't be cruel
49th has just spent the best part of his Saturday evening working all that out!
Don't worry, I am an owl..but, is it wrong? Either its true and results are getting worse or its not true and we are still in a playoff position and we are now ..9th... goals "for" are falling goals "against" are rising there is really only one conclusion the current selections or tactics are not working as well as they were earlier in the season, despite bringing in more players.. Things need to change quickly or we will be mid-table and stuck there. Maybe things will improve as the weather hopefully improves in spring and surfaces get faster, but we dont play with real pace anyway so who knows? Oldham have scored 8 more goals than we have and are 7 points above us...small margins over 20 games, but it proves that you have to score goals in this division you cannot defend your way out of it.

I don't disagree 49th, it's just that there's a much bigger fish to fry in my opinion
And that's getting people through the turnstiles. The way we play just won't do that, however many points we pick up along the way
Football is an entertainment, and it's more than perfectly evident that we just aren't being entertained
My hope (more than expectation) is that JM will gain the confidence to set the talents of this squad free. That's precisely the kind of magic that KH set in motion, and JM played under KH so you'd hope something would've rubbed off. In the meantime, there's always next year, or year after...
Sorry, but how many times have we heard "happy with the performance" after a loss from Jim? The result is what matters more than anything. We all wish him and the team every success, of course, but there have been far too many times where "performance" has been priority above results in his post-match interviews. "The results will take care of themselves" was one classic quote after what was considered an acceptable performance where points were lost. Jim's media training will only take him so far...
This manager has an opportunity to prove his ability to gain results and points by the end of the year. Again, I wish him and the players every success. If we continue to fail to get the neccessary points & results, for the good of the club, we'll have to look at a change of manager.
Over to you, Jim.

Disappointing really when you consider the manager has been backed with more cash beyond the planned budget to bring players in. As others have said, too many players and no consistency. Of course 6 points from the next two games and there will be smiles once again. But we shouldn't paper over the cracks. We are not entertaining to watch and we are not winning enough to drive punters into the ground. There's always next year.

It's like watching the majority of ETH interviews when at Old Trafford, you wonder if you've witnessed the same game, if by a "performance" he means keeping the ball in areas that cause absolutely zero threat to the opposition we are putting in some wonderful "performances', but sadly it's purely a results driven business, he could probably do very well to remind himself, play as well as you like but keep racking up 1.0 defeats and the axe will undoubtedly fall.

Bland interview. No points for possession. I just wish he'd honestly address the problem areas with more depth.. Describe what we are not doing to get the ball over the line. He needs to get the lads fired up, play with pace and utilizing our game winners, Mitchell and Rodney, they should be more involved than they are. Cut out wasted passes in opponents half, get the ball to these lads quicker. Goalscoring chances are minimal. These two decent player aren't involved enough, they should be creating havoc against team like Dagenham. wither it's tactics at fault or enthuiasm of the front line to make more if an effort. It's a frustrating watch.

Buyabu looks to have had all attacking mentality drained from him as his time with Dale has gone on Tobi likewise looks far less attack minded than earlier in the season
It’s not a one off. The rare occasions of us going for it e.g Aldershot away are exactly that. Rare. It’s not a 2024-2025 thing. The squad has been re-built over the summer but the same approach and occasional consequence (goal conceded such as Barnet away)
Every game we play seems to be ‘we could nick this 1-0’ approach
Daggers are a rank average team with little threat other than long throw ins. We treated them like they were Real Madrid.
"We are not entertaining to watch and we are not winning enough to drive punters into the ground." We are certainly driving punters into the ground, literally! I don't recall one piece of play yesterday by us that I could call entertaining. Although for the final minutes after the goal saw us slightly more interested, we didn't threaten to score. As much as I hated the way we were under John Coleman, especially at home being two or three goals down, at least there was an entertaining attempt to get back in the game. So 45+ mins of entertainment under him compared to 10+ under McNulty isn't a good read. Can anyone tell me why, when we have a throw in, do we literally throw the ball away. When we don't throw the ball away and are nearer the opposition penalty area than the halfway line, do we not attack the penalty area in favour of the halfway line. What is wrong with giving the wing/er or back and encouraging him to beat his man and cross the ball. What is wrong with any player with the ability to dribble, to do so. Winning the Sutton United game in the last minute felt great but on reflection it only papered over another poor performance. Our current position of 9th is probably about as high as I expect from this team under this management, even though most seem to expect 6/6 from the next two home games. The club as a whole needs to decide whether to entertain a growing attendance or to perform to a dwindling one. It is possible to do both AND pick up points, I just don't think McNulty is capable of doing it.
