Apologies if this is a spack but I can’t see another one anywhere.
In reference to the title I thought that Festy Ebosele looked by far the best of the Irish team that played England recently but I’d never heard of him. On looking him up found that he’s at Watford “on loan from Udinese.”

I might have to think again about some of these players... especially the new ones. They have all done alright so far. We need a better winger than Smyth though, if we are to progress. |
Getting Dembele back and firing would be a big help.

Not had a chance to read the thread as was late getting into the ground
But for me think this is possibly the best we have played this season.
We look good at the back and going forward we look a real threat.
.... man of the half here though are the fans... we haven't stopped singing
Couldn't see the hand ball shout as it was the opposite end but it did look like one, but hard to tell.
The Morrisson miss also looked bad, but apart from scoring think we were far the better team, but we know what happens when you don't take your chances......
Feel a lot more positive about us.... than I did last week.
A huge shout out to Jimmy Dunne... the guy win absolutely everything in the air.... he is causing havoc for Watford

I understand the Elton John aspect, name on the stand and all that, but why is that the song they've chosen? It's also written across his stand...

Overall a really good half but Watford won’t be that bad in the second half .
Keep creating these chances then one must go in .
I fear we’ll be punished for missed chances .

Very unlucky to go in goalless. That first half was an encouraging watch. There is life in this team! Also thought Celar looked a bit more confident, decent shot and nice holding off the defender for Madsen’s miss.

I think we're a bit conditioned by VAR here though. Ref's only got one view. Of course it's a blatant handball but if he isn't sure he can't give it, and the players screaming at him won't and shouldn't change his mind.

Exactly . Ainsworth in the middle of saying the referee had an obstructed view, as they show it from behind the goal which proves his view was crystal clear . Ainsworth just stops talking as he knows what he is saying is nonsense .
The linesman has a clear view too looking straight at it .

Also worth remembering - as bad as that handball miss for the penalty was by the ref, the two by our players were far worse and under our control. If they take them it doesn't matter if the ref bumbles a decision like that | |

Linesman are generally worthless sadly and cannot even do their own jobs most of the time .Clear penalty to everybody denied is shocking poor from the Ref and Saito is getting no protection at all . No excuse for Morrison not slamming that home just basic error leaning back just sidefoot it hoom. Celar looks good but Smyth cannot cross or shoot for sh*t but otherwise we are ok |  | | |
