The back four looks better with a Left Back playing.
Sugawara is more defensive minded than KWP.
Personally I like my defenders to defend.
When 3 Centre Backs are played this frees up KWP to play.

The walkway to the right of the railway footbridge brings you to the top of Britannia Road.
Also there’s a subway that takes you under The Northam Road to the entrance of Radcliffe Road.

1. I noticed that my side of the Northam (the left side) do tend to sing different songs to the right side. Perhaps to revive that away fans 'bounce off' you talk of, Saints should re-install the black mesh down the middle of the stand and both sides of the Northam should start hurling abuse at each other. Shouldn't be too difficult, the right-siders look a right ugly bunch of c***s.
3. We don't bother with the footbridge anymore, we go up Britannia Road and across the road bridge. Not only does this save time but you get a lovely view of the newly opened swimming pool where the gasometer used to be.
4. Didn't see a seagull but a butterfly flew across the Northam End during the match. I'm no expert, but I think it was a white one.

I agree. It's a proper home end now. Before it was effectively an away end because the big group of away fans in the middle drowned out the sound of the home fans in the corners, where the acoustics are much worse..

I took a family member who only goes occasionally, he's quite the observant type.
I sit just to the right of the half way line in the Itchen and
One of the first things he said was previously all he ever heard was the away fans and yes I used to find it embarrassing sat there whilst divided lot were outsung.
Definitely better now and you could clearly see everyone in the Northam joining in.
Just needs the players to battle and show some fight and score few goals. | | | |

I think moving the away fans has definitely changed the dynamic in the ground. I've had season tickets in the Kingsland then the Itchen South since the ground opened and it always had the noise of the away fans drifting down the pitch to the rest of the ground, now it's across the chapel end.
I think David Brailsford from British Cycling christened it the aggregation of marginal gains years ago.
At the end of the day though, if the away team is good enough they'll win regardless of where fans are. | |
