Ainsworth Post Match on 23:47 - Mar 14 with 5177 views | stainrods_elbow | I'm worried he's already becoming delusional - talks about protecting our 'young boys' as if we were a side full of novices. So that would be Dickie, Dieng, Kakay, Dunne, Willock, Dykes (all 25-27) ,plus those spring chickens Messrs Martin and Adomah, right? Give me a break! And as for his analysis that we got done 6-1 just because of not defending set pieces, is he for real? We conceded every kind of goal tonight with a fecklessness bordering on genius, and it could have been 9 or 10 - and if we'd played a 2nd game, I don't doubt it would have been six more! I love Gareth, but he needs to have a word with himself tonight with downward-managing bilge like that. [Post edited 15 Mar 2023 0:01]

Not a great night for anyone involved at our club. I'm sure Gareth doesn't really believe what he is saying - or at least I hope he doesn't.
Ainsworth Post Match on 00:04 - Mar 15 with 5123 views | ManinBlack | Staggered he is not worried after this disgrace. We lost 6-1 to a team that had only won once since October. We reek of relegation. This game was all over after 15 minutes. Anyone would think we were playing at Burnley the way we crumbled. This is the biggest low point of a wretched season even more shameful than the Fleetwood defeat.
Ainsworth Post Match on 00:06 - Mar 15 with 5108 views | FredManRave | He's in a complete no win situation with a post match after that result. There are no words. You have to see the QPiRony in him having managed Wycombe for 10 years and yet in his 4th game as Rangers manager he's just recorded his worst ever result as a manager!

I am going to steal a line from a LFW poster from a few weeks ago . GA has been QPRd its as simple as that . He screwed up running the same 11 out as Saturday IMO and once they fell behind it all went to hell in a hand bag . No excuse for our defending corners its been the killer for 2 seasons now and even Dieng is infected .

Just got home after driving through every set of road works they could throw at us , nothing to say schoolboy football at times total disinterest at others , some went for hero’s to zeros tonight . Basics not even done drew badly exposed fro. The kick off , and they battered him for it . In all th yeas of going have I felt this angry after a game and have to admit to being one of the many down at the front giving them deserved abuse , some seemed upset by there performances some seemed to not care a jot , sent being the main culprit just strolling along chewing his gum didn’t seem that bothered at all at the end which sums up his performance.tonight and way to many times this season being honest .

Seny is another who gets an easy ride from supporters. He is as culpable as the rest. Always found him a too arrogant for someone of his abilities. They are poisonous and toxic on and off the pitch. Only Field, the two wing backs and Martin, are worth keeping for attitude alone...if not ability.

Ainsworth Post Match on 08:10 - Mar 15 with 4288 views | stanistheman | If he really believes in what he said then I think he is delusional. I haven’t seen any of it - nor do I plan to - but it sounded a truly shocking performance from most of the players. Hoofball 2 has returned. The midfielders barely touched the ball it seems. We can’t expect to pick up many points playing this way. I feel sympathy for him (as I did to some extent for Critchley) as there are so many players out injured. Critchley at least had the use of Chair and Willock, Ainsworth doesn’t. One more game before a much needed international break and hopefully getting some players back in the match day squad. Let’s see what kind of football he chooses to play if the likes of Paal, Laird, Chair , Willock and maybe JCS or Balogun are available.

Of course he's worried. But what good would it do anyone if he'd voiced that. Going all woe is me never helps anyone get out of a difficult place. He has to do exactly as he did: acknowledge how bad the situation is; not call anyone in particular out publicly,; and, be clear that a lot of work needs to go into turning things round. If I were one of the players, I'd know he expected a huge lot better from me, he wasn't going to shame me publicly but he has a plan to sort it out. He couldn't have done anything more than that.

I only watched it via the posts on the match thread, which was bad enough. But in general the key there, and most of this season, seems to be where he says that they seemed to take going 1 down 'personally' - and that they were too weak.

4 of the 6 goals were from set pieces, 5 if you include the penalty

You can be sure he's telling the players something else behind closed doors. He saw what happened when Critchley threw the players under the bus so it's not surprising he is the one taking the flak in front of the media, and absolving the poor loves of any blame.

everyone is worried but if you look at our games left, we really should be able to win 2 of those which will be more than enough next season already feels terrifying though
Ainsworth Post Match on 10:28 - Mar 15 with 3620 views | PhilmyRs | The players, particularly the blend of players we have is the major problem, but the Manager hopefully acknowledge some culpability (privately at least) for not freshening things up, even a touch. Playing such a hard and draining game on Saturday and all the emotion that poured out of it, to see exactly the same eleven for a Tuesday night game in Blackpool just seemed bound to fail. Was it Beale that did something similar and acknowledge their mistake? I do appreciate he was slightly limited by options but even just bringing Albert in for some experience instead of Drewe so removing him from the firing line and possibly Armstrong and/or Steff would have helped a bit. The Manager is not the problem but I hope he takes it on board. I'm not in with the stats but does seem that you may be able to get away with a lack of rotation in League 1 but Championship, the physical condition of the other teams seems a step up which I think makes some form of rotation vital.

not defending anyone, but tbf, that 11 out there other than Dykes have been available for selection pretty much all season. And Dykes by rights shouldn't have played again this season after pneumonia.

This is a great post but I fear you will get a bit of abuse there Damo1962. Dieng has made some superb saves this year but he has made some pretty bad mistakes that have really cost us . I always felt he was pretty cocky and arrogant but you have to be confident to play in net . Watching the slternate angle from the Watford game he did not appear to be joining in the euphoria until Dunne jumped on his back. If Ainsworth wants to show he means business this Saturday he might consider starting Archer over Dieng and see what happens .
