Loving this book. Don't know the author - I swear! - but he's done a world of research and there's a wealth of info from the 60's and 70's jammed into it.
There's a fine read available now, written by R's fan Francis Peacock.
It charts the creation and the fortunes of arguably our greatest ever side. The 1975-76 team that came so close to winning the Football League.#QPRhttps://t.co/ockcMXd06R
I know Francis well. He is a proper R and multi talented. Looking forward to getting a copy.
He taught me at school a long time ago! I know a lot of time was spent researching and interviewing quite a few of the 75-76 team. That era was a little before my time so will look forward to reading.
If it’s the same guy I went to junior school with him, he went on to Kingsbury High, we were great mates back then. I saw him outside the ground some years back.

Indeed it’s one and the same. That’s where I know him from, but I was a ( very young) teacher there then.
Payment has to be through PayPal, but I doubt that will be a problem for many of you. As I don't have an account, I had to leave the payment for my wife to carry out!

Excellent book, really well written with some good pictures from the time. Lots of background information I wasn’t aware of in putting that team together & transition from Jago to Sexton, Marsh to Bowles etc. Obviously a Labour of love for the author & well worth a read. Highly recommend..

being featured at some point this morning on the Robert Elms show.
Just finished it. Excellent read with good research.
Brought back so many happy memories.....makes me sad to think that we'll almost certainly never have those days again. It really was a wonderful period in our history. I wished I knew then what I know now - I might have enjoyed it even more!!!
When we didn't win the title in'76. I genuinely thought "oh well, maybe next year"!!!
The author Francis Peacock on Robert Elms today (in the last quarter of the show). Initially I wasn’t keen on listening - I evicted myself from Memory Lane a while ago and I thought the juxtaposition with today’s squad would be too painful. But holed-up at home with a twisted ankle I gave it a listen - a lovely interview. Two dyed-in-the-wool Rs fans having a chat - bitter-sweet yes but has put me in a good mood. Got the book for Xmas. Saving it for the summer. Yoo RRRs! Keep the faith.
