Too early for anything interviews / build up etc from the club, but a bit of a favour... I'm driving down to Orient for the first time on Saturday, but when I looked on their site it makes it sound like parking is impossible.
Anyone been before with any tips on where is good to park please? Don't fancy getting a fine for parking in a residential area.

It's another sub standard half of football. Bottom line is that we are not as good now as we were before the January transfer window, because the players who ave come in are just not as good as the ones who were sold.
We are in the relegation scrap now. Anyone who says different is fooling themselves.
Has Stockdale got what it takes to see us safe? I'm genuinely not sure, despite liking him and his honesty in the interviews, I don't see the players responding in kind.
as I have said before, we have too many lightweight players who can't or won't put their bodies on the line for the club.

Maybe time to try Charman and Cashman, can't get any worse.
We've only seen Campbell and Charman start one game - away at Scunny - and although it didn't start well, there's no reason to think a partnership would form instantly and many of us were expecting the pair of them to be starting up front together by default, especially at home
If the Mansfield game isn't the time to get that back on track, i don't know when it would be
The last few games we have looked completely clueless with the ball - no plan or strategy, just tap it around and then hoof it forward. Another key problem has been passing being bad, resulting in the opponents getting the ball - this has been an issue with a number of players. It’s good for us that Scunthorpe and Oldham are so bad, but it only takes a couple of games going the other way for us to be looking at relegation, and I can’t see the club recovering if that happened. The potential points deduction is further concern, and could be the ultimate killer. I’m debating whether to renew my season ticket next time round - I’m sick of watching this garbage

Unless there is something we have not been told about, I am confident we won't be getting a points deduction.

Back home after a long quiet journey home - we concluded that at times living in Suffolk and supporting the Dale isn’t such a bad thing! At least today nobody can blame the pitch.........

Thought there was a decent atmosphere at the start of the game from the 300+ dale fans who made the journey, and the first 20 mins we looked really good. A well worked goal, and we were unlucky not to get a couple more. They were not having much joy, and the home crowd were really starting to get on their back (side note, I've never seen a team argue as much amongst themselves as Orient were doing)... they literally couldn't string a pass together. We missed a couple more chances, and then once again we are on the end of a worldy strike.. I thought we'd had our season's quota for that at Colchester but obviously not.
Second half - the word that was being thrown about was capitulation. Orient in the first half hour were possibly the worst team I've seen this season... we seemed determined to give them a run for their money for that title in the second 45. Disjointed, no creativity, desperate and desperately poor defending. Their third was a clear handball I think, but don't let that distract, they could easily have scored 4 or 5. We remarked that we didn't have any leaders on the pitch, and I'm not convinced today we had one on the sideline either.
A couple of weeks ago I said we needed 8 points from Barrow, Orient, Stevenage & Carlisle. We're currently on 1 out of 6.
Our problems seem to be either fitness, confidence, mindset or tactics.... the talent in the squad is not being matched by performances or results - sadly that rests with the management. I desperately want Stockdale to do well, but you have to wonder if Orient scored a 4th would it have given the board a decision to make? Someone next to me remarked that the second half performance was a 'job ending' one. If a fourth wouldn't have meant a decision from the board, I can't help but wonder if an Oldham win would've. If we don't win on Tues / Sat, and Oldham get anything, Carlisle is going to be a VERY important game.
I hope Stockdale can turn it around, but its getting harder to back him when we see the same issues / mistakes being made.

The thought occurred to me tonight that, if RS was offered another job, say Academy coaching at a Premier League club, if he’d jump at the chance? He must be getting a bit disillusioned. I nearly posted this morning that since Christmas he’d tried to go back to basics by shoring up the leaky defence and making us harder to beat. Glad I didn’t now. I still want him to carry on and see what summer brings. Any more bad results though and even this board might start to wonder but who, at short notice, would be available to replace him with so few games remaining?

Post match, RS said (twice) that he had "told the players in there how he felt".......are they just not bothered?
Has apathy set in?

Possibly, and if that is the case its even more worrying.
One thing I forgot to mention last night, there was a point near the end of the first half where it looked like EOC & Stockdale were having a right argument. We had a throw in near the corner flag, and it looked like RS was telling EOC to go up for it rather than stay back... EOC was gesturing it was a long throw in (being taken by Dorsett) rather than a corner. They must've been at it for a good 30-45 seconds at least before EOC did his dismissive wave away with the hand, turned and walked away shaking his head... RS turned round and just shrugged at the bench.
Not sure what to read into it, but we had a conversation in the car yesterday about whether some of the senior players will now be (openly or in private) questioning Stockdale and thinking they know better. I've seen a couple of comments on twitter suggesting its a hangover from the old BBM / DB group, and not sure if that is the case or not. We know there have been challenges in the dressing room previously ('influential' players in the group vocally disagreeing with vaccination, for example)... if they might be questioning RS we have a real problem on our hands.

I am totally baffled why we can play extremely well against Salford and a few days later, play badly at Orient. Stockdale the senior players, may not understand his tactics or see him weak and so do what they want. We can only speculate of course, but as I and others have said, Stockdale plays the same formation and tactics week after week, and seems unable to change the system. Have we players who recognise they will be leaving the club in the summer and so are not playing to the best of their ability or is RS tactics stiffing them. I read an article an Saturday about Steven Gerald, who operated 3,4,3 the system when he took over at Villa and struggled to win, then went to a simple system of 4,4, 2 and won 3 out of 4 games under the new formation, this indicates tome that having two proper forwards upfront works.
Stockdale, like BBM and many modern coaches, that as come through the FA coaching system in recent years, they have a fixation about passing and possession football, it may look good in terms of statistics, but if you are not winning it is pointless.

Don't be baffled. It's why we're 19th in the table.
Or, because we're 19th in the table, that's what happens.

There will be another clear out at the end of the season, if some players are causing bother in the camp, they need to to join the exodus and not be offered new contacts. It is self-evident that we will need a new defence, another midfielder or two and a genuine target-man. The manager has now had his baptism in L2 and will have a better idea about what he needs to compete at the top end of the division. I think Stockdale needs to be more of an enthusiastic leader, two video interviews per game seems excessive, better to keep to a post- match assessment and focus on the next game during that than keep repeating stuff...familiarity breeds contempt. As it stands, we are where we are, averaging 1.2 points per game with 10 games to play, 10 or 12 points from 10 games will probably be enough, ideally we need to win 3 or 4 but form suggests a couple of wins and a few draws will suffice, if we can get Downing back in the side, and settle on a regular starting 11, so much the better. This is a difficult period for the whole club, but it will pass and there will be better days ahead, its not a time for rash decisions and falling out. The darkest hour is just before dawn.

"10 or 12 points from 12 games will probably be enough"
I'm not sure about that. Only once in the last ten seasons has a team been relegated from League Two with more than 50 points - and that was Barnet nine years ago.
Only one other team has gone down with 50 points - Bristol Rovers in 2014.
While another 10-12 points would be very nice (although unlikely on current form), recent history suggests that many won't be needed.

Barring a miracle Scunthorpe looked pretty well doomed. If they were to win every game they can only finish with a maximum of 48 points by my reckoning. That leaves everyone in the bottom group of teams scrabbling to avoid the other relegation place.

And the Sheridan bounce at Latics seems to have stalled
If Orient's goal difference is anything to go by (+8) they might well be a team who've just suffered a poor run but are basically better than the table currently suggests. Of course, their change in fortune being helped by our ineptitude and if the reports on the spat between EOC & RS are anything to go by, perhaps an issue in the dressing room where leadership is concerned
If Downing were fit, i'd even be tempted to drop EOC for a couple of games. It's not quite as clear cut what he brings to the defence these days other than an 'attitude' and a good deal of the faffing about at the back stems through him. Yes, he occasionally takes the ball forward himself and he's good enough to do but his forward passing hasn't been great and as for much-needed leadership on the pitch... well, where is it?
It'd also send a signal to the rest of the squad that RS isn't going to stand for any nonsense. I'm sure people will disagree about EOC, and fair enough, but a back four of Clark Dorsett Downing Keohane would be worth a try. And make Ball captain
Summat needs to happen, and instead of interview statements, imo RS needs to make a visible statement on the pitch. Jeez, i'd even go with Clark Dorsett Taylor Keohane!
Where does Jimmy Shan come into all this? Is he in favour of the system we play too or has not had any input at all? Surely an assistant manager is there to give another opinion/pair of eyes and offer something different or am I overcomplicating it?
I make that two football posts in less than a week from me. I’m da man.
