A&E on 22:44 - Sep 12 by majorraglan | Sadly the vaccines do not appear to be preventing large scale transmission, but three quarters of the people in hospital with Covid are from the 10% of society that has not been vaccinated. The 25% who have been vaccinated and are now hospitalised include the old, the vulnerable and people with underlying health conditions including cancer etc. 75% of the patients coming from 10% of society should tell us something. |
The old, sick and vulnerable are the ones who need the protection the most. The vaccine, obviously doesn't work for those and for the ones who have died after having the jab

The vaccine obviously does work for them because they are not the ones being hospitalised. Hardly anybody has died directly because of a vaccine but we hear more and more stories of people dying who haven't been vaccinated. Doesn't that stat tell the story, 75% of hospitalised covid patients come from 25% of the population. The vaccines are preventing serious illness in the vast majority of people. I suppose we won't see the big picture for several years but I'm fairly confident that with the benefit of hindsight those who were against the vaccines will look pretty silly!

Utter nonsense, never heard so much rubbish in my life. The Hospitals are full of people with vaccine injuries, the vaccinated are the ones spreading covid. We'll see how cocky you are about how good the vaccine is halfway through winter.

How has the vaccine worked for those who have had it and thought they were protected? For those it's been a total and utter failure. I never mentioned deaths directly from vaccines, just those who have had it and not had the protection from it that they were promised. For those it didn't work!

I had the vaccine and thought it would prevent me from developing serious Covid symptoms, which it has. I've had worse colds.

Schools are back, no face masks, if someone in your house has covid no longer required to self isolate. This is herd immunity being tried and tested. Those who took the advice to be vaccinated took the right path. There would be a hell of alot more deaths if they hadn't. Those choosing not to be vaccinated for no reason other than freedom of choice, suck it up.

Unvaccinated people make up 75% of hospital admissions from only 10% of adult population. Unvaccinated people 37 times more likely to end up in hospital than vaccinated people. Since end of May most of the people who have died of the virus have Unvaccinated. A high price to pay for freedom of choice.

The age profile of the people being admitted to one hospital during the current wave is considerably different to the profile of patients being admitted during the first wave, it’s now much much lower with a very high percentage of the patients being in their 30s.

You don't half post unsubstantiated rubbish. You keep believing the chinese style propaganda. Mu variant just killed 7 fully vaccinated in one pop , in other words start lining up for your boosters ...Is this what you call freedom? Because that is all you now have. WUM. You can't even post something short without contradicting yourself. Tell me is it unsubstabtiated or is it propaganda? Of course by propaganda you mean official sources that you choose to call lies. I had a cat who was as dull as you. She used to sit on the road and make cars stop, until one didn't. Your car is coming!

And 75% of them are unvaccinated. More avoidable hospital admissions from people who are ignorant, brainwashed or just know better than the experts.

A&E on 18:42 - Sep 14 with 1054 views | SPboy | Was up there last weekend when the person in charge announced over the PA system that waiting time to see a doctor was around 14 hours. There is no logical reason for waiting times to be so long in A&E. Understaffing has been an issue up there for years & it is clearly a strategy to work with minimum staff especially out of normal day hours or on a weekend. Yet when you eventually get through to a ward there seems to be lots of nurses sitting around drinking tea & chatting especially during normal work hours.

The waiting time is to see a triage nurse.

Waiting times are because people are in with doctors and if they need to be moved through to a bed they hold up the queue because there aren't enough beds. They then take up the treatment cubicle area and so people out in the waiting room end up waiting....and waiting! The stark truth is there aren't enough beds, A&E's are not big enough and there aren't enough staff. The NHS isn't deliberately keeping staff levels low, that is down to government funding and poor senior management.

It’s not just Morriston, other hospitals are experiencing similar pressures. On top of the valid points you have raised, hospitals have wards closed to new patients on account of Covid which compounds the problem re bed availability, they also have acute staffing problems as they have staff self isolating following potential Covid exposure while there are on sick with Covid and others stressed out after a relentless 18 months.

That's very true. some wards are full with covid patients and it's getting worse. Those with gung ho attitudes towards covid need to think again
