My pal rang me today to say he was going to purchase a pool table at some stage to put in a humongous shed he has in his garden - bizarrely, he actually built the shed in order to build a small aircraft, which he did and it took him 6 years, and he now flies.
Anyway, he is going to convert it into a man cave with a little bar and music and pool table etc.
So he wanted suggestions for suitable feel good tracks for a playlist to accompany said pool and drinking.
He is the same age as me (we were at school together) and is into his retro rock, so perhaps we can suggest some tracks to divert him away from his usual fare of Thin Lizzy, Deep Purple, Bad Company.
Well that's sort off knocked spots off my idea of building a couple of Airfix models over the next few months.
Tell him to include anything by this band......

I`d have to include this, as he played in a well-known local band in the 70`s and 80`s that did it as their encore!
It would bring a wry smile to his face...
Would that be a band that use to play The Royal Oak at weekends?

Talking about AC/DC me and him went to see a tribute band at the venue near the bus station. They were quite good.
We also went to see Letz Zepp there. They were very good...
There use to be a AC/DC tribute band (think it was AB/CD or something like that, not sure now) that Brian Johnson use to turn up and do vocals for every now and again.

Yeah, I once saw them (AB/CD or whatever - if they were the local one) and bizarrely the guitarist ended up doing some work at my house.

Think one of the members lived or worked in the Lake District, which is where Brian Johnson saw them, all a bit hazy now, so not too sure.
Use to be a couple of really good cover bands from Preston area, neither of which I can recall the names of. One was a punk band, the other was a rock band that also use to do AC/DC covers (amongst others), which iirc had a couple of ex Xentrix members in it.
On the whole though, wasn't really a fan of the "chicken in the basket" circuit. There's only so much Meat Loaf or Bryan Adams that anyone can take, before you start running screaming for the exit.

Indeed you may Red, and that may give further legs to this thread. I am now beginning to feel like a `run chaser`.
Suspect it may have to have an aeronautic connotation - `Biggles` Bar` - perhaps, but `Ramada Inn` is certainly in contention...
