Hong Kong and the Chinese government 23:11 - Jul 1 with 600 views | Lala | The events in Hong Kong appear to be escalating, and true to form the Chinese government refuse to report the unrest with a blanket ban on reporting these riots. So, why? What exactly do the Chinese government fear? And should they fear the outcome of freedom of reporting? What long term damage can transparency do to China? Who has most to gain, personally by China remaining a closed state? Is that ethically fair?

I wouldn't like to live there. There are too many people crammed in to a small space.

Hong Kong and the Chinese government on 07:11 - Jul 2 with 573 views | BringBackTheRedRoom | Been banging on for years about China. It's a state run by the Communist Party since 1948, hell bent on world domination. Instead of going down the Soviet Union route, Mao said years ago "to beat capitalism, we need to be better at it than the west". It's a brutal regime, that has brainwashed it's population of over one billion people for 70 years, built "re-education camps" and forced over a million people into them, and executes more people than any other country. It's the Soviet Union on steroids. We have a treaty with China guaranteeing Hong Kong rights until 2037?, it's the one area in world affairs we have a duty to take a lead. I doubt we will. We've been too busy sucking up to them for the last 9 years, God knows why, now our policy is a total mess. The protesters getting out the flags of the UK and The old colonial Hong Kong will be seen as a massive insult in Beijing. At a time of their choosing China will get revenge for that.
