Weekend plans? 10:32 - Jun 8 with 820 views | Lala | Here again.... The weather has thwarted mine somewhat. As an extended family we were attending a fun day and barbecue at the Saddle Pub near Salwick, a change of management event. Going to give that a swerve due to the weather and just meeting for lunch in St Annes instead. Tomorrow, besides a bit of housework no immediate plans and a lazy morning 🤗 You?

That’s where we ate. We sat outside at the back, the weather was fabulous with fantastic views. It’s a lovely place isn’t it.

Cycling around town yesterday, there was a lot of rugby fans around for the semi finals of the top 14. There were loads and loads of Clermont Ferrand fans in yellow and not many Lyon fans in red. The thing is. Rugby generally isn't as imbalanced as football is in the UK and globally. Neither Clermont not Lyon are really rugby towns. They've just hit it lucky and are riding a wave. Bordeaux is a major heartland of rugby. When I moved here, 20 years ago, they were recently the champions of France. When the union game turned professional the club (UBB) had a bad time and wallowed for many, many years in the lower divisions. UBB have now stabalised in the the top 14. They have massive, and I mean massive, support and when they eventually get it right they will be the top club in Europe for many years to come. UBB, allez, allez. For example, I went to a midweek mid table night match with 32,000 spectators.
