Next manager? on 09:01 - Apr 9 by R_from_afar | I just saw an article which claims the shortlist is Sherwood, Appleton, Rui Almeida, Gaz and Bowyer. If we are at least considering overseas candidates, it makes me feel that we are looking further than the end of our noses, which is a positive. If we limit ourselves to people with a QPR connection, we are fishing in a tiny pool. I can't see Jackett coming unless Pompey fail to go up, but that could happen. I have no idea if this is true but I suspect Ainsworth may feel a little loathe to leave Wycombe in their hour of need. After he has kept them up would probably work better for him - he seems like an honourable bloke - if he keeps them up. However, by then, we could be down. I also feel that Eustace needs a new voice on the training ground to help him *right now*. Bircham or Derry would be a good shout, I think they are both available and would come without a moment's hesitation. If one of them does OK, I'd keep them on when the new man arrives. Two other things: - Sometimes the club just can't win! On Twitter, fans are saying the fact that we are interviewing people in addition to Sherwood is either a smokescreen while Gilet Boy's contract is drawn up or a token exercise designed to make us think there is a process - David McIntyre has had a huge row with Matt Winton on Twitter in which it has emerged that Les "made the call" on loaning out our young players. You may or may not believe David knows the facts but that is what he is saying. Ah Rangers, never dull! |
Said in an earlier post mate, but if offered, Gaz would walk from wycombe on his hands on broken glass that's been set on fire. Don't worry about that. He loves the club, desperate to manage us.

Next manager? on 10:57 - Apr 9 by hubble | Of all the candidates mentioned so far, Bowyer is the only one that excites me. Got the feeling he will bring something different to the table and has the energy and drive to push through the pall of gloom that surrounds this team. The rest... meh. |
Yeah apparently Bowyer showed interest in the vacancy straight away so clearly wants the job. Has a bit of a reputation but may have mellowed with age. Seen a couple of interviews with him and been quite impressed, could be the breath of fresh air that we need. Not a very QPR like appointment so very unlikely to come I’d have thought.

I think it's more like 15 months

The one thing that does really impress me about Bowyer is that Cullen, Williams, Aribo, Bielik diamond he's got playing in midfield. Unusual formation suited to technical not huff-and-puff players who have had their abilities wasted elsewhere. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Next manager? on 13:47 - Apr 9 with 3051 views | THEBUSH | I always think a club like QPR needs a manager who can travel to work from his house, i.e. in the London area or nearby. Steve McClaren I believe still lived in the N.E. ? I don't care what nationality they are, just as long as they live in London or as said nearby.

He rented a place in Chiswick and moved out the day after he was sacked. Had rented it for two years apparently so if anyone is looking he may be able to sub it to them for the next year.....

Dave Mc is absolutely obsessed with the idea Cotterill will be our manager one day. I have no idea why. I think it keeps him amused. Also, it says 'they've spoken to them' but is later slightly tweaked to 'they've applied for the job'. I suppose if Les replied to their email, they've spoken to them. Pearson is actually a good manager, he just went completely insane. Billy Davies! Ha ha.

Completely random names making Sherwood look more attractive option perhaps?

Why are we (allegedly) giving the job to Sherwood when he hasn't managed anywhere for some 4 years? Mega cheap option??

Next manager? on 16:19 - Apr 9 with 2406 views | BAWHoops | It's a veritable who's who of who was hot in The Championship 5 years ago. I do think that we aren't in a position to fanny around with a hot sexy new thing from leagues below or abroad. We need someone who can come in, knows what the situation is and can confidently get to work. The time for a cool, transformative appointment has now passed us by I'm afraid and it's a case of needs must
