Before we appointed Steve Eyre, there was a post on the messageboard about John Pemberton being in the running. I Googled him, and his CV looked like it matched what we were looking for. His name didn’t appear on any of the betting. 10 mins after I’d called and asked for a price, he was second favourite at 5/1.
Then we appointed Steve fcuking Eyre, but that’s another topic entirely.
Somebody could try the same again, you don’t even have to pick a different name, Pemberton was recently caretaker manager at Chesterfield so his name will have appeared on next manager betting recently. |  | | |
