I’ll say this gently but there are even worse sharks out there (see, Portsmouth, Leeds , Coventry, Bolton, Blackpool). Stampeding them into selling to just anybody may not be altogether a great move, especially if we really are a basket case. At least they will have a declared objective and, yes, a fiduciary duty, to manage their investments in a responsible fashion for sustained investor return. Kaplan won’t want Oaktree tarnished.
