Firstly, apologies for asking this question, as I am sure it has been mentioned previously...

Am I correct in thinking Dale matches are now streamed live abroad, or have I dreamt this or was it a one-off?

I only ask as I am on my jols for the Bury game and would love an excuse to sit in the bar and watch us!

Cheers!

I believe DalePlayer offers this feature now but i'd guess it will only be in certain countries so you might have to check. You'll have to sign up for a Month once you get on holiday so then you can use it.

how is anthony elding still in league one?

If you want to watch the vision I think you will find that it is a 12 month subscription, and you must live outside the UK. It's great for me good picture but sound is a bit behind, also no commentary as yet, hoping that will come in time.

I signed up while abroad and only had the 12 month option at £110, which is fantastic value for 46 games! I did not have to do anything to prove I lived outside the UK and there wasn't even anything to fill in to say where I am based.

It would be an expensive option for 1 game. When I first signed up for the Pompey game there was the mention of a match pass or a season pass on the first page, I was going to just pay for the Pompey game and see how good it was before committing, but on the actual subscription page there was only the season option. Maybe for some games you will be able to pay for it as a one off.

You can pay for each game as a one off for £5.
I believe it is relatively easy to watch in U.K. If you register and log in through a vpn and pay with PayPal.

Thanks for that, I will have a look at the subscription once abroad.

Not a tech expert, but if you register while abroad, the system picks up that you are abroad and allows you to buy live video of the game. If you then take your device to the UK and try to watch, you can then only listen to the game

However as someone has pointed out, if you in the UK and have a VPN, I assume that if you set VPN to a non UK setting you will be able to register and watch Dale games in the UK.

The quality of the picture & camera work for the 2 league games so far has been very good and I don't mind not having commentary ( no-one in the crowd has it). Once they get the sound synched correctly it will be excellent ( A bit odd seeing Davies score, and hear the cheer 2-3 seconds late). Also during the half time beak you can check out some off the 1st half action ( I checked who did the back pass who put us in trouble)

Not sure how worried clubs like the Dale should be. If I am correct about VPN then anyone can get all 46 games live for just over 2 quid a game. No need to travel and you can have equally valid comments on the game as people attending the match. If I lived in Rochdale I would go home and away even with this option but to watch all games ( especially away games) from the comfort of your own home) could be appealing to others

I think FL clubs need to keep an eye on abuse of this as 10% deciding this is a better and cheaper option would be impactful to us

Anyone recommend a good VPN to use? I use UK based ones but never used one out of the UK, cant make the Shrewsbury game and hoping to give this a whirl.

I cant see it impacting attendances much at our level, Watching a live stream with just one camera angle I imagine and no commentary certainly doesn't add up to physically being there. But its great for fans abroad to stay connected to the club.

NordVPN is a good allrounder and probably the best for privacy if you are worried about your data getting into the wrong hands. For something a bit cheaper PureVPN is a good option too.

You don't need a VPN when you are abroad. You just watch.

I got it to work here in err... spain. It took three attempts to buy a match pass and the stream kept slowing down in the second half. Also is a very low fps so struggles when play is moving quickly. Still, I got to see our wonderful defending and listen to some main stand moaners crying about the referee for 90 minutes, which is far better than matey fm.

How much is the match pass out of interest?

Tangled up in blue.

€6 a match. It was a bit of a pain to pay because it kept asking me to log in again. It worked third time around. Also you cannot use paypal. Only Credit Cards.

Managed to get it working in HD eventually when found a good work around. Fantastic quality and for any dale fan abroad surely a must have! I will certainly be using the service again for a few future away games.

It's actually quite funny to hear those nearest the camera. With our home games having the camera in the away end I am sure there will be a few classics to come. That guy today moaning at the ref reminded me to be fair of a few of ours in the Sandy & main stand. I think they turn up up for games primarily to watch the ref rather than the game
