Very proud to be voted Planet Swans Poster of the Year 2017 by my fellow posters. Especially on a site that nearly had 20 million impressions last year.

The Official Hull City Versus Swansea City FA Cup 3rd Round Match Day Thread on 17:48 - Jan 7 by londonlisa2001

I'm not glad we lost - I hate it when we lose.

But the worst thing that could have happened today was not us losing, nor even having to replay the fixture. The worst thing that could have happened today was the team flattering to deceive, giving an excuse to those that need to spend serious money, not to spend serious money.

It has been obvious for months that the squad is awful, and any possibility at all for a couple of mediocre signings from the championship to be viewed as 'all we need' to give us a slight chance of keeping our premier league status would have been a total disaster.

Thank God that excuse has been taken away. Doesn't mean we will spend serious money, but it means no one can pretend that it's OK if we don't.

The thing is lots on here said back in the summer that the squad just needed a tweak, when it was clear that it needed far more than that, we'd got away with it last year, just, but it was clear that the squad needed surgery in the vital areas, players that have served us remarkably well, have aged and need replacing, but no we just keep relying on those players and its caught up with us, when improvements could have been done slowly over the last maybe 4 TW's, but now squad needs major surgery and it isn't gonna happen and it would be counter productive if it did at this stage of the season.

I really don't think people would say we didn't need investment, even if we'd won 8-0. One game does not sum up our whole season. Or two seasons for that matter.

I'm dissapointed we lost, more so because we were fielding players that will be in and around the starting 11 between now and the end of the season, shows what a state we're in that our A/B team lost to Hulls C team

Swans in 'still being a bit sh*t' shocker.

Got a clear week to drill some semblance of discipline into the players and get a couple of new faces in.

Enjoying the next level

Bradley would have one that game. He would have brought in intensity, energy enthusiasm and pressing. All part of his plan.

Back in the summer when Ash and Ayew were our players then all the side needed was a tweak. Some players we needed to let go and a couple of signings brought in to strengthen the team. Then Jenkins eventually got going, kept players we should have let go and over egged the attack (with a record signing who seems unsuitable for the team) whilst ignoring midfield and weakening the defence. All done extremely late leaving Frankie to try and blend them in during real time as opposed to pre season friendlies.
We now need to redress the balance and a full back, midfielder and central defender are essential. Whether we can get such players in who are an improvement on what we have got is very much open to question and I hope Clem can use his contacts here.

Just listened to the match on the radio and it sounded a bloody awful game.

As you say, a massive job ahead if we are to avoid relegation.

Awful commentary too followed by "Call Rob"

Some fresh guests wouldn't go amiss instead of the usual suspects. Hardly any wonder listening figures are on the constant slide

We always needed much more than a tweak !!
We needed an overhaul over the last 2 seasons and it didn't happen and what little we have done has been poor !!
Now we're paying for it

We always knew Ayew was gonna go he hinted it enough and there was always the suspicion that Ash would go and we failed to prepare and that was on top of the fact that other areas of the field needed strengthening midfield, wingers and fullback, but no Jenkins was fully focused on gaining "investment" for him and his cronies and yet he's still at the club

Just back from the game, consensus was:
- overall much better - playing as a team/unit with a sense of purpose
- Borja - not at the races; slow in thought and deed - not a good fit
- Gylfi - play deeper box to box; push Fer to #10 to exploit his deft touch and vision
- CBs - worked well (surprisingly!?)
- Kingsley - spare part 1st half - reluctance to play him in down the left despite acres of space
- we were by far the better team and didnt deserve to lose

- Pacey front man required (a la Hernandez)

Or Barrow

lets be honest, Barrow is pretty s**t, he's fast and thats it, he can't beat a man with skill, can barely pass a ball, can't cross and when he cuts in he can't shoot. Sooner we upgrade on our wingers the better
