Remain With or Leave the EU on 19:02 - Jun 20 by exiledclaseboy
I think someone mentioned this upthread but it seems similar to how the Scotland vote went. A late scare where leave looks like a shoo in then an even later swing back to remain as common sense returns.
I still wouldn't like to call this one though.
What did you make of Warsi making a big song and dance about leaving the Out Campaign and switching to Remain only for the Outers to say she was never anything to do with them in the first place?

Nope. people will vote out as a protest against being poor ('blame the immigrants'), then when Johnson, Gove and Duncan-Tit get their hands on the steering wheel, they'll find out what being poor really means. It'll be interesting to see how those bunch of chancers explain how they can't do a single thing they've promised. Blame Labour I guess.
I still have no idea which would be best mind, In or out that is. Johnson et al could never be for the best, even against the posh debating society of Cameron and Osborne. There should never have been two opposing sides, that is so frigging Eton and Oxbridge, there should have only been verifiable evidenced independent facts. And where they don't exist, all of these c***s should have to say 'we don't f*****g know'. I'm sick of hearing 'I believe' as if it matters what any of these farties believe.
It's fair to say that the whole thing has got a grip of my well tethered goat.

I've been chuckling at that one all day.
Sayeeda Warsi - "I'm leaving Vote Leave"
Vote Leave - "We never realised you were part of Vote Leave."
What isn't quite so funny are the apparent death threats she's received since. God bless Twitter.

I'm with you. This past six weeks has been among the worst in post-war British political history.

This. We have got to the end of the campaign and the only thing we've learnt is quite how incompetent the f*cktards are that we have running our country.
In a Dav-style fit of pique, it now doesn't matter to me which way we vote. I'm leaving this country whichever way the vote goes.

I was talking about people with limited intellectual capacity, who have never done a proper job in their lives and yet feel the need to shout loudly all the time about how they know better.
Whatever made you think of Shaky?

That's just the impression you get because events in 2016 receive the blanket media coverage that decades past didn't. History reveals, if you are prepared to put the work in and dig deep, that the build-up to just about any epoch-defining event on these islands is utterly shambolic.
"In our age there is no such thing as 'keeping out of politics.' All issues are political issues, and politics itself is a mass of lies, evasions, folly, hatred and schizophrenia."
Orwell wrote that in 1946; it could just as easily have formed part of a leader article appearing in one of tomorrow morning's broadsheets.
Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.

At least you admit that you are not interested in the truth.
Firstly...
"Do you have a reading comprehension problem? I explicitly stated correcting misinformation about my work not my "stance" on anything."
Unfortunately, as your postulations/position/(pontifications) are not accepted by the majority nor PROVEN to be correct, then my poor sentence still stands - your "work" is a position/stance and still UNPROVEN (possibly, opinion even - ouch!).
Secondly...
A few on this board accept their limitations , you however, come across as a conceited arse...but you are definitely, in my opinion, a TROLL.

Moving on to the thread topic, I must say that I wasn't aware that there was a list declaring politicians voting/campaigning intent, so why the baying from the swivel-eyed loons? On another note, do the voting public care which side Baroness Warsi is on? Couldn't she just point out how disappointed she is with the Brexit campaign?

Very slightly off topic . Nigel Farage's comments re the Remain side using the tragic death of Jo Cox to boost their arguments show what a disgustingly vile human being he is. If anyone was using the situation it was him.
Whatever the outcome I hope that as of Friday he crawls back into the sewer he came from and is never seen again.

The remain side are using it to their advantage though. Stephen kinnock: "Remember Jo and what she stood for at the ballot box".
This whole referendum has been full of shameless opportunism on both sides, but you are only seeing what you want to see.

Do I? What an incredibly intellectually dishonest response from you.
Not at all, that was how you wished to be thought of. Instead of learning the truth about something you instead tried to personally attack me which is rather disappointing but not at all surprising.

So you are now doubling down on having reading comprehension problems? Please go back and read what I actually stated here as it is quite clear you have no remote idea what you are talking about.
Then quote me in my own words posted to theses forums which of my "positions" are not accepted by the "majority". Then define said "majority".
Apparently you have yet to accept your limitations when it comes to reading comprehension.
Trying to libel me as a troll because you cannot follow this conversation nor do not even comprehend what I am specifically debating is not an argument .

The leading economist supporting the Vote Leave campaign is Patrick Minford who is Professor of Applied Economics at Cardiff Business School. Here, in an excerpt from an article in The Sun on 15 March 2016, is Minford's view of what will happen to UK manufacturing industry after Brexit, with the key sentences highlighted in bold type.
"This country is no longer one that specialises in farming or building. We now trade in skills more than we do in things.
We have excellent designers, highly skilled intellectuals and we specialise in ideas that are then sent to South America or parts of Asia to be made.
Over time, if we left the EU, it seems likely that we would mostly eliminate manufacturing, leaving mainly industries such as design, marketing and hi-tech. But this shouldn’t scare us.
Britain is good at putting on a suit and selling to other nations."
Yes, he really did say eliminate manufacturing industry!
We can't say we haven't been warned.
P.S. I know that this repeats material posted on another thread. But Brexiters really need to see this.

There's nothing new there, Apollo. Minford isn't saying anything there he hasn't been saying since the 70s. My question in answer to this is always the same, if production is moved where production costs are lowest then who is going to buy what is manufactured?
Britian does produce "excellent designers, highly skilled intellectuals," she always has, but they are a miniscule elite. The national economy is driven by the purchasing power of the mass of the people. If jobs are off-shored then the engine stalls.
That, to me, has always been glaringly obvious.

The only thing I've seen are interview quotes she'd given. Is there more?
I think the quotes are from about 20 years ago and in relation to whether we should have joined the common currency. She's distanced herself from the Leave camp.

"The Euro bureaucrats are destroying every bit of national identitity and individuality. We must keep out national individuality."
She's now saying the opposite? Wow! It would appear both she and Jeremy Corbyn must have been holding hands on the road to Damascus. Did you see him on the BBC this morning speaking live from Manchester? He was stood there in front of a giant REMAIN backdrop unpicking every stitch, every thread that has underpinned his political philosophy until, say, ten days ago? I don't know what he must have felt like inside as he did but I felt somewhat grubby watching him do it.... and I've never held any sympathy for him. I wonder how those who placed their trust in him must feel?
