Our board of directors - tight fisted morons 18:33 - Jan 23 with 16395 views | DICKIETAPISAJACK | Whilst we are a small fish in a big pond, (so are Bournemouth) next season the TV money goes through the roof & to a club like ours it will be like winning the lottery. It is imperative that we stay up. I don't think anyone can deny that if we had a guy that cud guarantee you 15 goals a season, we would pull clear of the dreaded drop. Yet our board turned down the opportunity to sign Naismith & Austin, as it has already been pointed out on this site, both scored today. We are ALWAYS taking the cheap option, whilst I have fully supported the conservative approach towards transfer fees in the past, risking relegation because you don't want to spend the fees that both Naismith & Austin went for is cutting your nose off to spite your face. It's greedy & stupidity by the board. The less the club spends, the more profit it makes and therefore the more dividends the directors can pay themselves. We are always doing things on the cheap, we appointed Mok cos he was cheap, we delayed sacking him to avoid paying up his contract, we placed a magnificent servant like Alan Curtis in an impossible position, because they wanted to avoid appointing a full time manager, who we would have to buy out his contract of his current club. & now we risk it all by playing Russian roulette with our premier league future. No wonder Jenkins has been bankrupt so often, he has bounced more times then Zebedee! They need to wake up, smell the coffee, & realise that they have to speculate to accumulate, just thus once. De Guzman & Sinclair is just going backwards, & will not solve the goalscoring problem. If we go down, how many of you will think we will comeback, honestly, with all bias aside? This is the one time they need to flash the cash. How much dividends do they think they can pay themselves in the championship with a half empty stadium? Tight fisted & short sighted morons

Our board of directors - tight fisted morons on 10:51 - Jan 24 by Borojack | Sunderland Bournemouth and Norwich all have big backers we dont. The Shelvey sale has reduced our overall debt. Doesnt mean we have to spend it all I am still hopeful the club will land a striker who can contribute even if its just a loan signing. |
I never said we have to spend it all. We need to bring a striker in though, whether permanently or on loan. Our peers have recognised that and acted. They may have more money than us, that's always been the case in the PL and probably always will be.

I m not going to any more home games so I ll leave it to the likes of you ..that means getting passionate and getting upset. You re in candy floss land ,son. You lot really do not get it, do you. Mentally, I d say it's accepted by most we re going down and it's only internet chutzpah being seen as positive post. Seems too many don't really believe us to have a right to be in the big time. We do . Don't get angry with fellow fans, be so with those incompetent board members |
Why are you calling everyone 'son' on here now? God knows what land you live in, whatever it is I don't want to go there.

Our board of directors - tight fisted morons on 11:02 - Jan 24 by jack247 | I know no one is saying that, it just seems a reasonably likely outcome given how long it took us to get a manager in place and our recent history of selling and not replacing in January. |
I remain to be convinced to be honest but that is probably because I know what we have tried to do behind the scenes And I refer here in particular to the part of the statement that refers to a manager The history though of selling and not replacing in January? Talk me through that?

Danny Graham. Bony. Appreciate you are privy to far more information than me and are probably limited in what you can say on a public forum. I don't doubt the amount of work that goes on behind the scenes. I'm purely looking at it from a fans point of view though. If we bring in a decent striker it's a good transfer window, if we don't, it's not. How much effort our board have put into it, rightly or wrongly, doesn't matter to me.

He's a nasty piece of work who lowers the tone of our debates every time he posts. Only a few weeks ago he seriously put forward the view (and even tried to defend it) that we should go out and try to break Vardy's legs. His posts are almost incoherent and very right-wing. But then again, what would you expect from a strike-breaking, miners-heads-cracking, Thatcher-loving, drooling-into-his-gruel spenk? [Post edited 24 Jan 2016 11:19]

Our board of directors - tight fisted morons on 11:04 - Jan 24 by dobjack2 | I think that you have set out the consequences of our poor recruitment quite well: We have spent a lot of money, there is far more to transfer these days than the fee when you take into account wages signing on fees etc, and a lot of our recruitment has not improved the first team and the players who should be challenging for their places as much as it should. No matter what happens I would hope that this area and our commercial activity are reviewed at board levels with a view to making improvements |
I remember Huw stating last summer that it would be very difficult to improve on the quality of the squad. And he was right Tabanou was a disaster Eder not good enough there were a few last summer who questioned the signings but got shouted down. Not sure why the club thought he would be good enough though his stats were not great in Portugal so was never going to be good enough for the PL. Very poor recruitment is an understatement. A club of our size cant afford to chuck money like that away.

When Danny Graham left we had Michu banging in the goals for fun and in the summer when we needed to strengthen we made a club record purchase When Bony left we had bought in Gomis the summer beforehand who we saw as a long term replacement, in fairness we did not miss the Bony goals in the back end of the season Just to clarify though I would have him back here in a heartbeat although he may need to take a cut from his wages at Man City

I agree could do with a striker though that will score a few without breaking the bank. Easier said than done I know.

We were certainly in far better league positions both of those seasons than we are now, hopefully that will be a factor. If Bony were to come back, even until the end of the season, I don't think there would be a Jack who wouldnt be delighted. It would go from being one of our worst transfer windows to one of our best. Apart from maybe Gomis that is.

Me neither. It'd be nice to add in certain places but if Guidolin's as good as his reputation would suggest it's not essential.

Aren't posts like this just as inflammatory though? I like Perchie and he's not the same as his internet persona. Does he make some cringeworthy posts? Yes I think it's time for the Open reach dick waving contest to stop on all sides and agree to disagree. How's that sound?
