Chelsea v Swansea City - Official Match Thread on 09:39 - Aug 6 with 8865 views | Pegojack | We need to get in their faces early on, get some hard challenges in. Let them know they're in a game. If we upset the crowd and Mourinho, so much the better. No standing off them like we did at the Liberty last time, showing them respect and being glad to lose. On a different tack, anyone know of any decent pubs in the Earls Court area for travelling Jacks? [Post edited 6 Aug 2015 13:44]

I would hope that would frustrate them trying to attack through the middle to an extent with people like Fabregas, Oscar, Ramires, etc in there but we'd have to be careful not to leave the flanks bare as they are just as capable of attacking from wide positions with Hazard, Willian, Ivanovic, Azpilicueta, etc. Bollox, I think I've just depressed myself. But we started really well there last season, even taking the lead, we just need to dig in and keep it really tight and not stand off and admire them like we did at home, that was just embarrassing.

Quite right, young David. That was the only time in recent years that I can remember when we totally failed to turn up and were a beaten team from virtually the first whistle.

Sounds right to me. 0-0 at 85 mins, take Siggy off, put Montero on. Cross to Gomis. 1-0 to the Swans. Easy.

I think we should keep our shape and frustrate them. I always like it on the few occasions we play without a striker. Pack the midfield and make it difficult for them. We have the players who can make the runs and the midfielders who can spring the trap once frustration creeps in with the opposition and the home crowd gets restless. On the other hand Bradford stood toe to toe and look what happened. Tough one to call but I would go with the first option. Even if we get nothing out of it the GD damage should be minimal. I agree. We mustn't give them anything early on. Our last performance against them was pathetic and if we concede early those memories will haunt us. Frustrate them and counter with pace.

We will probably play very well and hold them to nil nil until mid way through the second half. Costa (if playing) will be winding up everyone. We will then fall victim to an appalling refereeing decision. Possibly a penalty or a sending off and lose 3 - 1 with the pundits saying how plucky little Swansea were. Such is the way with matches like this most of the time. I still hope for another Man U away though. :-)

Chelsea v Swansea City - Official Match Thread on 08:39 - Aug 7 with 7662 views | dameedna | Bet on at 9 to 1 odds against a Swans win. Guy laughed and said he hates Chelsea. Very refreshing. Two games to play this weekend and one to watch. A nice bonus courtesy of Huw Jenkins and company would be sweet. Quite like that line up posted earlier. It leaves some flyers on the bench in Montero Routs and Dyer. Grimes, Eder, Tabanou, Amat should be on the bench Which may mean no place for Leon, Dyer and Rangel. Tough call considering they were starting XI last season.

You're probably right about the bench - can't see us having 2 full backs or 3 wingers there. Routledge is always going to get the nod over Dyer these days.

Chelsea v Swansea City - Official Match Thread on 20:52 - Aug 7 with 7075 views | centrestandswan | It is not so much what we do to them as what they will do to us, we must play out of our skins to get anything from this and then we can put our feet up for the rest of the season, . A 0-0 draw would suit me .

Chelsea v Swansea City - Official Match Thread on 05:04 - Aug 8 with 6785 views | Lord_Bony | Sorry to piss on the parade lads but let's just hope Diego Costa is not playing today..it's 50/50 as he's injured but we ll know this morning. I was thinking of putting that vid up of our 5.0 drumming back in January but it's too painful to watch. This will be our baptism of fire for our fifth campaign and I'm not expecting anything from today...but it will harden us up for the coming games. Let's get today over, enjoy the match, pick the bones later, then onwards and upwards. 2.1 Chelski
