I can live with that. Economically I'm most definitely a socialist but that particular argument was lost decades ago. Although all countries with a taxation system practise wealth redistribution. It's unfortunate that arguments around social and cultural tolerances get pigeonholed into "left or right". It's rarely that simple.

I've always wondered how some people in certain positions afford their £55,000 car and £350,000 house.. With a salary in the £40,000 - £70,000 range in difficult Economic times.. Then it just hit me.. Bang.. Like that.. I've noticed 'people' delaying my progress in every way imaginable.. And it all becomes clear now.. It's all understandable what the communist Labour Dead heads are doing.. How they're managing their finances, houses and luxurious cars.. Your secret is safe with me..

Darran, Gay Pride is a privately funded event, organised by volunteers and the gay community.. Spreading awareness of Human Rights around the world to educate the ignorant, misinformed of how much stigmatisation and cruelty people who like the same sex face in day to day life..
In reality.. It's a day for gay and straight people to get pissed and have orgies.

If I'd was you I'd have gone with the usual "It's because of past prejudice' rather than that.

No they don't.
They promote sameness. That's why you see the service men and women marching in uniform, the police in uniform, the Fire Brigade, Ambulance Service, Nurses, Teachers and all the Trade Unions (the Miners still being particularly noticeable) marching alongside big corporations, gay people and straight people,men and women, all walking along together peacefully and partying.
It's all about saying that gay people are part of everyday, 'ordinary' society - they just happen to be gay and want to be (and these days are able to be) open about it rather than hidden away in the corner.
And someone opposing bigotry is not being bigoted for doing so. | | | |

If there was a history of white people or heterosexual people being persecuted in this country then I might agree that there should be a march calling for equality.
Maybe we should be thankful that there is not the need to do so?
