Wins the ball.

One footed.

Studs not showing.

Refs are against us.

Ssn say it's unbelievable and should be appealed. Ratcliffe on radio Wales says its a straight red. What a tw4t.

Not surprised, the clueless biff has to be he most pathetic excuse for a commentator/broadcaster ever! Clueless, biased, incoherent, pathetic. A stain on the s**t stained rag that is BBC wales!

I suspect it was because he lunged in that the ref gave it. You need to see it in real time. Looks like a shocking decision from that though. Coutino didn't help by rolling round like a fanny.

I saw it in real time and thought 'oh no', then saw the replays and it turns out Coutinho had studs showing.

Ah well.

Never a red but I can see why he thought it was

Sorry but I can’t. Quality on my stream was not great, but on first look, I thought it was a great tackle. Replays confirm this. Apart from home and big team bias, I still can’t understand how the ref gave a foul, let alone a red

Yes the ugly side of the game being simulation has been overlooked. Coutinho goes in studs up yet he rolls around

It s very worrying when millions of pounds are resting on these experts in their field.

There should be some reviews of these decisions after the match and if the ref is found incompetent then a yellow card system with a final red and a few match bans should be given.

This should tighten up these sloppy decisions especially in the Premier League.

Ah should have read this thread before asking about tackle on other thread it would have answered my question.

Sorry if repeated question - not read all the threads - home really late / early

Can we get this non red sorted before Everton given the major impact it could have on our coming big games.

Coutinho had lost control of the ball. It was getting away from him and Fede had every right to go for the 50 / 50. He goes in one footed, toes first, studs down as you're meant too and wins the ball. It was a strong tackle but not a lunge or even reckless

On the flip side, just to rub salt into it - if anyone wasn't in control and appeared to jump into the tackle, two feet off the ground and with studs showing then it's Countinho

I'm not one for conspiracy theories but I'm beginning to wonder.

I have been saying it for months, now those I said it to are starting to think the same!

Was listening to those smug w@nkers on talksport last night and one of the presenters was adamant that it was a definite red and that swans fans were complaining too much. They were patronising and arrogant to the swans fans that called in who wanted to talk about referees.

The big club bias makes me sick sometimes. It's just the way they simply don't care how the smaller clubs are shafted and bigger clubs get the run of the media as well as reffing decisions.

If the decision had cost Liverpool then it would be the leading football story of the day. Instead it's barely acknowledged as something that occurred within 90 minutes.

Was on about the ref.

In today's day and age, any lunge and you're in trouble. On reflection, not a red but you can see why he's given it. A lunge, a coming together, Coutinho rolling around.

Fernandez was so controlled even his trailing leg the studa were pointed back. Last eight with a great chance of Europe blown by incompetent refereeing.

if he really said that that then he should be sacked for being the most incompetent moron that they employ (which is truly saying something given that they employ nothing but). Anyway - given that every single other commentator will disagree he'll either retract it or look like the completely biased prat that he is.
