the only way a Championship side can bring themselves into competion with a Premiership side is to get close and tackle, win the second ball...we just give it away, immense arrogance to think we can compete on an equal basis. 352 leaves too much space if the two wing backs drop into a flat back five....

True - if you can't complete a pass, you won't get far.

Hoddle was imo bought in as much for 'insurance' as his coaching skills , stated this before we kicked off the season. Difficult to know just what system HR will start games with now but I will give it until October and if not much improvement up steps Hoddle.
Match Thread on 15:23 - Aug 24 with 1587 views | DylanP | Game over. What a nightmare. We just were nowhere near good enough. the first half we were terrible. We were a bit better in the second half. I can't see Dunne getting picked again and I would be surprised if we play the 3-5-2 formation against the bigger teams again. And, there has to be space for Faurlin in the midfield. Oh well. Its a learning experience. I don't buy the "Its all over" attitude that some of you lot love to have. Spurs are a good team and we aren't yet. It'll get better.

Well said Dylan. No point over reacting against a 4-0 defeat to Spurs second game in. Harry has to start trusting in Ale though as he did seem composed when he came on. 3-5-2 destroyed us not only by having to 35 year olds at the back, but leaving the midfield woefully exposed. It would be a waste to abandon 3-5-2 after 2 matches but can we be competent enough to work with two systems alternating depending on who we are playing against?

Match Thread on 15:27 - Aug 24 with 1489 views | RangersDave | 65-35 possession. Yes spuds are a better team, but........and here's the fact that some seem to be missing........they are playing football. We aren't! There's a team of lazy players there that don't know a system. Lethargy shouldn't be there, but is. If that's not a reason to worry, being currently bottom and 'searching for a win' I don't know what is.

I think you'll find Fulham relegated to a division below and played teams that were below them last year. We have come up and played today one of the top 6 teams in the country and Fulham have lost 4 in a row so far. Apart from all that, yep we're just like Fulham

Match Thread on 15:31 - Aug 24 with 1406 views | WeaverQPR | No need to reach for the panic button but todays performance was like something from the Hughes era. 352 looked a bloody mess, Dunne looks done and the midfield didnt have a pass or a tackle in it, only when Faurlin come on did we make a few passes. Id go back to 4231. TF knows the repurcussions of a slow start.

He should be playing from the start mate. not when we are 3 down and its game over. Ali's twice the player Barton is and I didnt see mutch from Fer today. But Ali will be lucky to get a start next week,.
