biggest annual sporting event thread on 20:17 - Jul 7 with 1476 views | Pacemaker | On my way back from the TDF a very good day huge crowds, I decided to go as I thought it would be my only opportunity to see such an event. I have a funny feeling it will be back on a regular basis. The concession sales were huge and I would imagine both the organisers and the country as a whole has benefited from the experience.

Yeah loads of Yorkshire Tea got enough to last me until after the summer! Had a couple of hats etc, the sponsors were all giving stuff away there were a couple of Watt bike challenges 250m in the quickest time wins a cycling shirt etc. The official stands were 20-30 deep and wide all day selling merchandise at a starting price of about £18 so i think they must have made a mint as there were probably 6-7 stalls around the fan parks. Good atmosphere saw a few jacks there so had a chat and a couple of pints . I saw a woman I see at most of the away games I dont know her name she was on the BBC Wales pre Cardiff game advert blonde hair with pony tails. I recognised her cycling around one of the parks..

Nibali looks strong after a poor season he looks back to his Giro form, anybody strong enough to win a giro and with a strong team around him will be difficult to beat. What a stage that was yesterday, is there a tougher main stream sport out there?

Wiggins ride support for Froome? I remember Froome dragging Wiggo up a mountain when Wiggo was shot. Won him the Tour when Froome, if he'd ridden for himself rather than the team would have beaten Wiggo that year. Wiggo repaid him by not paying him the bonus, the only rider on the team that year he refused to pay. Wiggo would NOT have supported Froome. That's silly. Equally, Wiggo would not win the Tour this year anyway. The profile of this Tour doesn't suit him whatsover. Only one time trial on the penultimate day? Interesting to see how team Sky can work things now, am definitely interested in seeing how Porte does.
