His height also seems to be a great outlook for Lillis if we're unable to play it out from the back. Watching the Leeds game the amount of aerial battles he won was ridiculous and it started many attacks. He may not be the quickest but he delivers a great cross and is also handy at shooting. Wonder if we gave him a two year deal in the summer? | | | |

He played an impressive cameo as sub for Aldershot last season, and I was pleased when Hilly signed him.
I think that, like many other players picked up by Hilly, he was lacking in self-belief - the belief that he could be part of a really successful squad. He's got that now, and we're reaping the benefit.

So right. It's all about balance & when Vincenti's playing we're a better team for it. No he's not got the Hogan/Dagnall pace off the mark, nor the Buckley dribbling ability but 11 Hogan's don't make a winning team. In the 2nd half last night we were (unusually for Dale teams recently) a constant threat from corners - Vincenti's aerial ability being key there (as also in offering an out ball from the back). He plays simple balls with a good first touch - remember the 27 passes routine against Leeds which he featured in. Against Rotherham he again came on as sub & changed the game - that performance seemed to be a turning point for his season and he now seems fitter & more confident. Along with Rose & Henderson these 'older' heads Hill's brought in add maturity to the otherwise very young team & they're clearly good mates - his interview with Henderson after the Leeds game showed that maturity and intelligence which is a hallmark of this Hill squad. | |

Whilst he's not the most gifted player, he is definitely my favourite player. He is a fantastic outlet when we are under pressure, and is the basis of so many attacks.
