Tom Glick has offered Rams fans his money back guarantee to entice supporters to renew and assure us that GSE will take steps to vastly improve the squad in 11/12. The question is, are you convinced?
As you are all no doubt aware Glick has promised that if fans are not happy with the squad that takes the field next season, they will receive a refund on their season ticket.
That alongside moving the cut off date for renewals from April 30th to May 15th, allowing fans time to see which division their team will be playing in next year.
On the official site Tom Glick rolled spoke about his public relations masterplan:
"The summer transfer window opens on 9th May, and we would like the fans to judge us by our actions over the course of the summer, we will prove to our fans - with the players we will be bringing in - that we mean business and we will put together a side to capable of mounting a challenge to finish in the top six.”
"A 'money back guarantee' was mentioned to me by a season ticket holder, who kindly took the time to write in. I think it is a very good idea and it is one we would like to open up to our supporters.”
"We want the fans to get their renewals in for next season - at the same fantastic price as the last five seasons - and then judge us by our actions. We mean business and we are determined to put an exciting side together for next season.”
"If any of those fans who have signed up are not happy with what we've done in the transfer market on the eve of the new season, then they can come to us and we will issue a full refund. We don't think it will come to that, though, because we are determined to put together a winning team."
It is an interesting offer and one that shows the message of supporter dissatisfaction has seemingly got through to those upstairs.
Fans have high expectations and want investment in players coupled with a genuine push for promotion.
In making a promise like this, Glick and GSE have given the first sign that perhaps they are now ready to give the club the shot in the arm it needs to be a genuine contender.
The proof will be in the pudding but with the announcement this week the Glick and co. have so much more to lose by not delivering than if they had said nothing at all.
