Former County player Johnny Mullins missed out on being named League One 'North West Football of the Year' at this weeks awards ceremony which was held Lancashire Cricket Ground. Mullins is of course plying his trade at Rotherham United although he was nominated for the award following his solid performances last season as County suffered relegation from League One.

Mullins was nominated for the award along with Carlisle's Ian Harte, Oldham's Sean Gregan and Tranmere's Ian Goodison and Rovers' Ian Goodison won the accolade for 'League One North West Footballer of the Year' after receiving the most votes from fans. The 6' 4" defender has now won the award three years on the trot!

It wasn't a completely fruitless night for the Hatters though as we picked up an award for 'Best Club Marketing (Football League and Conference)' for our Leukaemia Research Campaign. Leukaemia Research was chosen as the clubs charity during the 2009/10 season because blood cancers had affected the lives of the families of players and staff.
